sb55 0
Hi, Just had a strange pop up from my antivirus, and thought I'd ask for some advice from here. I was using google chrome to browse the internet. I wanted an image of a paperclip, so I googled the word "clip", the first web page that came up in the google search was "www.clipconvertor.cc". I obviously ignored that and clicked on the google images tab, and all of a sudden got a pop up from my eset antivirus which said the following threat was detected: Scanner HTTP filter Object type: File Object: https://www.clipconvertor.cc Threat: JS/Adware.Agent.AA application Information: Threat was detected upon access to web by the application: C:// Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe How is this possible when I didn't even click the web link in google. I've definitely visited the site months ago, but on this occasion I didn't. I then clicked off google images tab and went on to the web search and again got the same pop up. Does anyone have any idea's why this might be happening? I am infected with some sort of malware? Appreciate any advice, thanks in advance.
