ESET FileSecurity 6.5 and Silverlight Webapp

Recommended Posts

Hi!

We have a customer with a strange issue, if ESET FileSecurity is installed on the server, their webapplication based on Silverlight do not work, we get an exception stating "CommunicationException" (SFxServerDidNotReply). It does not matter if we stop realtimeprotection, webprotection and phising protection, the exception gets thrown either way. ESET does not display any information in "Detected Threats".

The only solution is to uninstall ESET and reboot the server, then the application works again!

Any suggestions?

Did you also try temporarily disabling protocol filtering? What version of Windows Server is it? Could you try upgrading to EFSW v7?

Thanks for the suggestions, we had to add the IP-address of the server running the Silverlight webapp to the list of Excluded IP addresses in the protocol filtering section. Case closed! :)
