Failed to activate EAV

Hello,

We have ESET Remote Administrator 6.5, and at some time the newly installed client workstations with Endpoint Antivirus can't be activated anymore. I created new activation task as described at ESET Support page, but it doesn't help. Any idea what could be wrong ?

Could you try to activate one of such endpoints just to verify it works? It might be also problem with connection - are you using HTTP proxy? If so, please verify it works correctly.

What do you mean saying "try to activate" ? And no, we have no proxies in our enviroment.

What error do you get when you attempt to activate Endpoint using a license key via Help and support -> Change license ?

I can't understand, where I can get license key? The licensed file we have it's a .lic file that seems like xml inside. In ERA console there is some "Public ID", but it doesn't look like key.

Actually I meant "activate locally", i.e. manually on client machine. It should be possible to activate it using your ELA/EBA account. This is just to exclude possible communication issues.

also I just realized you have not mentioned how the task fails in ERA, does it states that activation failed in product?

Well, I found ELA account details and a key, but I can't activate locally - saying something like "This key is for another product". I noticed, that installation task was modified to install EAV version 6.6, but old and activated workstations use version 6.5. Does it mean the license key is only for version 6.5 ?

licence is valid for 6.x - 7. Maybe You did same thing like I did in past : installed eset endpoint security instead eset endpoint antivirus... ? :)

Thanks, seems like exactly like this: endpoint security instead of endpoint antivirus. How it could be fixed centrally ? I think 5 or so computers already installed with wrong product :(

Please let us know exactly:

  1. What application is installed
  2. What "product" is your license for? What is listed in ELA / ERA license view, as the "product name"?

My assumption would be the same as from @Pinni3 that you have a application / product mismatch.

@Einok

Uninstall the corresponding product using a corresponding task (software uninstallation) + reboot the computer & and then install the correct one (software install task).
