Jon Man 0
Is there the possibility to block all outgoing DNS requests, leaving only the ESS, browser and torrent client? What rules should be created in the firewall?
Administrators Marcos 5,298 Posted July 30, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 30, 2018 It should be possible: 1, Enable display of pre-defined rules in the firewall rule editor 2, Create a permissive DNS rule for desired applications and put it on the top of the rule list. 3, Create a blocking DNS rule without any applications specified and put it below the above rule. itman 1,758
Will add that I ran into issues with creating like custom DNS rules. Eset uses DNS for its proxy connections. Would strongly advise that an allow rule be created for ekrn.exe for DNS. Then that rule be placed above any rule that blocks all outbound DNS communication.
