harley95 0
Can someone give me a basic example of when you would use Web Access Protection as opposed to Web Control ? also Eset has told me (depending on who I am talking to) that Wild cards can/cannot be used in these application ? I am talking mainly about when you would use wap/ url address management as opposed to wc/url groups. for controlling access to web sites. Seems they both do basically the same thing. Thanks Edited July 17, 2018 by harley95 add more info.
Administrators Marcos 5,250 Posted July 17, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 17, 2018 Url management in WAP can be used to block urls per se; wildcards are supported. Web Control is primarily aimed at blocking websites by categories; the url blocking functionality doesn't support wildcards. Also note that SSL/TLS scanning must be enabled in order for ESET to be able to block hostname with a path.
