Arakasi 549
Hello char, A few things we need to check to ensure you are protected first. Please click on your start button (lower left corner). In the search field please type in "CMD" and press Enter. In the new window that opens, please type in "control wscui.cpl" - with spaces between control and wscui This should open Action Center which will show reporting on what security you have actively turned on. Click on Security , and then verify under Virus Protection that Nod32 is up to date and virus scanning is on. Next please click on your Start button again, and choose All programs. Please verify you have a folder named ESET and list its contents if any. Please report back your findings.
char 0
the action center said the anti virus was "disabled" but didn't give me any way to enable, the eset has all its folders, etc, and the icon would appear on the bottom but when I went to point the curser at it, it would disappear. went online and they say my eset is active and current. kept playing around with stuff until late last night and finally did something and the eset home page appeared (still don't know exactly what I did) so I "pinned" it to the toolbar, everything is fine now, but thanks for your info (I had already tried some of it), Looks like I am good for now, thanks. Arakasi 549
So Action center says On and Protected now for ESET ? If so, your golden.
ESET Staff CB530 70 Posted December 19, 2013 ESET Staff Share Posted December 19, 2013 Hi Char, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Default settings don't specify that the ESET icon be displayed in the system tray. We have a knowledgebase article that will guide you through the steps to add it. Please take a look and feel free to write back with any questions you have. Per your earlier posts, it's most likely true that your protection is running just fine, only the icon is disabled.
