encor 0
Hello, Our company uses ESET Endpoint Antivirus 6.5 and File Security 6.5. We've been thinking of implementing NAS arrays (Netapp, EMC) for our file servers. Is there any way we can apply antivirus protection to such arrays? Also, does it makes sense if all clients are protected with the software I've mentioned? Regards
Administrators Marcos 4,909 Posted May 17, 2018 Administrators Share Posted May 17, 2018 With ESET installed on all machines with access to the NAS, protection should be ensured. If a NAS is equipped with an x86 compatible CPU and running Linux, it should be possible to install ESET File Security for Linux on it as well. encor 0
Thanks for the reply. By saying "protection should be ensured" do you mean real-time scanning on access or crawling network drives, UNC paths etc?
Arakasi 549
Since the NAS would be set up like a normal mapped network drive, ESET will scan and crawl any files access or opened that reside on the NAS, including the ability to scan the entire NAS through the endpoints even with scheduled scans. Permissions would still come into play, however.
