Need Help switching what happens?

Recommended Posts

Basically my Eset smart security premium ran out an now have time for Eset internet security. In renew license in Eset smart security it said I needed to restart computer for it to take effect. Now obviously I will but my question/questions are. Once I restart it will it uninstall smart security premium an Internet security will be there? Also which is better I would keep the original but can't afford anymore. Ya I know it depends on habits etc. Also which do you prefer Internet security or smart security premium? Im over using also lol sorry english after much russian messes with it. i apologize. Anyway I've seen an have had friends swear by WebrootSecureAnywhere with Eset which I used as well. I know you aren't suppose to as it will cause issues but it didn't for me. Would that also apply for the Eset internet security and do I uninstall Eset smart security or just leave it? Anyway thanks for your time. Your answers will be much appreciated!

God Bless

Comparing ESET Internet Security and ESET Smart Security Premium, currently ESSP has two additional modules - Disk Encryption and Password Manager. If you don't need any of these or use another tools already, it's enough to purchase EIS.

Transition between products is smooth; simply click Change product in the main gui and you will be offered products that you can activate. After a computer restart, the selected product will be activated.

Thank you for your time :). Does ESET protect against the the Zeus Malware Virus? I recently got a pop up a legitimate one here - https://www.cox.com/residential/support/zeus-malware-virus-information-and-tips-for-removal.html

Also your opinion on WEBROOTSECUREANYHWERE? Like I said I have friends who swear by it with no issues me included also people on here who like it but there of course are people with issues. Some get issues some don't but that was with ESSP but not EIS. Things seem to be working perfectly fine. So if it ain't broke why fix it?

Again thanks for time. Also I;m looking for the best deal for 3 maybe 4 computers. Getting ESSP or EIS price range would be the better deal? Again I know ones missing certain other things an depends on what your using it for etc.

Again sorry for your time stupid questions.

God Bless

As for Zeus, it's an old malware from 2010. We detect it. Of course, without a particular sample we can't tell for sure because one could take a known malware and obfuscate it to evade detection, however, ESET uses a technology called Advanced Memory Scanner which scans already deobfuscated code in memory upon execution.

As for other AVs, generally it's not a good practice to install more AVs at a time, otherwise issues may occur. It's possible to have a 2nd opinion scanner for on-demand scans but without real-time and HIPS/behavior monitoring modules.

ESET provides comprehensive protection and leverages various techniques developed by ESET to protect you from malware. For more information, refer to https://www.eset.com/int/about/technology/.

Both EIS and ESSP provide the same level of protection against malware. Only if you are interested in using a password manager or disk / folder encryption, go for ESSP.
