bot 1
Hi, Does ESET support the full use of environment variables such as %appdata% and %userprofile% in its exclusions? Will all environs be resolved on the client? Also is one directory level considered to use suffix "*.*" and all subfolders "*" ? Please clarify. Thanks. Administrators Marcos 4,718 Posted December 9, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 9, 2013 System variables will resolve but user variables not as they are not available in the context of the local system account in which ekrn.exe runs. Arakasi 549
What about creating a new environment variable under system variables? Would it resolve or fail ?
Administrators Marcos 4,718 Posted January 16, 2014 Administrators Share Posted January 16, 2014 I would never exclude the folders for temporary files as this is a common location for malware. Not entirely sure but I assume that %temp% should resolve to %windir%\temp for processes running in the system account anyways. te
