Mark says he's sorry!

I hope Mark's apology helps everyone feel better. I also heard he is willing to testify before a (Senate...I believe) sub-committee (he might not have a choice:lol:).

I'm good with it......as I do not use Facebook or other social media:P. The following is from Reuters.

Not being a Facebook user I have not paid that much attention to the details, but so much for privacy.:angry:

@TomFace

Sad to say, user or not facebook is likely watching you, and selling your info. I think if you're in the EU you've got some additional protections.. but not much, really.

:(

I'm not using any social media sites, apps or whatever they are calling them these days as I am by nature rather anti social to begin with. :ph34r:

I'd be interested in hearing how you came to the conclusion that user or not Facebook is selling my info.

Tom,

Thanks for the link it made for interesting reading.

I've said before, I have no idea why people find it necessary to put so many details of their personal life online.

Yes I'd be interested in knowing that as well<_<. I also use Ghostery to assist in blocking (in addition to other means).

Many folks these days lack the common sense that supports self preservation. A total stranger could call them and they reveal their personal information over the phone without thinking twice about it.:wacko:

He's only sorry because he got caught. I'm sure I read somewhere they knew about this at least for a year but I believe it was longer. Social media is a great way to harvest information and often used by hackers to aid things like phishing and other forms of social engineering e.g. getting information for identity theft. In the UK there is a bank advert that shows this with a hacker going through pictures and finding key information including finding a picture which has the users card allowing the hacker to zoom in and read it.
