program not showing notifications of update

the program is updating but its no longer giving me the systray notification, how can I turn this back on? thanks

Hey-o,

 

It could be that your pop-up notifications have been disabled. To re-enable them, press the F5 key to access Advanced setup, expand User interface, click Alerts and nifications, make sure the check box next to Display notifications on desktop is selected and click OK to save your changes.

not exactly shows only a box to send an e mail alert...

Hello larryb52.

 

I am unsure what notifications you are talking about exactly, if it is Product update notifications, or if it is about the Virus Signature Update notification popup?

 

If it is the latter then this may help a little, note this KB article is about something totally different so don't read anything only look at the FIRST screenshot showing the update section in the advanced setup tree, and this setting......

 

"Do not display notification about successful update"

Make sure that this setting is Not checked and you should see notifications again.

 

Again, I am unsure if it is these notifications you mean or not, since some things works differently in Win 8.1

 

But perhaps you already solved it since you marked the best answer.
