ESET taking too much cpu on SQL Server

Recommended Posts

Our resources monitor / performance tool for SQL Server indicating ESET ERA taking too much cpu on our live SQL Server. Is there a proper way to investigate this? or any right solution we can do something about it?
Our ESET ERA and its database (SQL Server) are on the same server.

This is likely happening because proper exclusion rules have not been implemented on the server in question.  I would recommend that you disable parts of the application one at a time to see if you can narrow down which part of the application is causing the high CPU usage issue in your environment.  once you identify which part of the ESET application causing the high CPU usage I would recommend focusing on making sure your settings are configured properly to for your business and environment requirements.

Thanks for the recommendation. May I know?:

"proper exclusion rules" - Do you have example?

"disable parts of the application" - Which application? the ERA Server? Did you mean for example using policy to disable something like HIPS, anti-phishing protection, etc one at a time?
