Facebook is requiring me to run ESET. So I tried it but it won't run. ESET will not run after I download it. A small screen briefly appears and disappears. And that is it. I have tried it about fifty times in two browsers (Chrome and Firefox.)

there are few companies that work with Facebook's Malware Checkpoint feature, ESET is one of them. The screenshot you uploaded is not for ESET though. If you receive a Facebook notification for ESET, our product allows you to run the scanner from the browser.

Just a side note -- if you are referring to the screenshot, the file you open does not have anything visible, it runs and scans in the background, and the Facebook website will let you know its progress and the results. There are various videos on YouTube users have uploaded demonstrating their experiences with Facebook requiring scans. This one in particular shows Trend Micro's one as of April 2017: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCwlo7E27WQ -- There is also one for Kaspersky, and it looks like it is the same procedure, regardless of the vendor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahuaHU8yh8o

Perhaps the KB article needs to be updated slightly to take into account the slightly different UI experience (updated screenshots and more info that the file runs in the background and progress is shown inside the Facebook website, @foneil?
