DrTeeth 5 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 All program's first run seems to be slow as the files are scanned and any future loading is at normal speed - I assume that a hash or something is stored for future use. There is at least one exception to this...PowerArchiver. This does not happen and the program's authors have to submit each update to you to overcome the slow *continual* loading. A few days after that the issue seems to be resolved in an update until the next one. Can this be fixed so they do not have to do this? Thanks DrT
Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 11, 2013 Administrators Posted November 11, 2013 Generally loading files should be quick, especially if you let the first-time scan complete. As for PowerArchiver, I'm not aware that the vendor submits new versions for whitelisting. If they use heavily packed files which take a few seconds to scan, any subsequent scans should be quick provided that you didn't disable Smart optimization.
DrTeeth 5 Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Hi Marcos, Please check out this thread hxxp://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5901 for more info on this. Smart optimisation is not disabled. Regards DrT
