mrlolguy123 0
Yesterday, my microphone is fine for everyone I talked to on Discord. Today, ESET Smart Security updated and my mic suddenly reduced in quality and volume. ESET most likely caused this because I have not installed or changed any settings in the past 2 weeks. Is there a way to rollback an update? My microphone is dead quiet even if I increase the volume of it on Recording Devices.
Administrators Marcos 5,271 Posted October 1, 2017 Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2017 Do you mean update of the modules or the whole program? Theoretically it could be Webcam protection causing this albeit I've never heard about such issue. Does the issue actually go away after disabling Webcam protection or temporarily uninstalling ESET? mrlolguy123 0
I don't know how the Webcam Protection could've caused it because Webcam Protection can disallow or allow the camera to turn on. But my webcam mic is louder, tested it through Audacity after having turned Webcam Protection off and rebooting. (I have rebooted before, the reboot didn't fix it)
ESET Moderators foneil 342 Posted October 2, 2017 ESET Moderators Share Posted October 2, 2017 Just in case anyone else is also looking for the answer to the question "how to rollback an update" (independent of this thread's issue, which I am not commenting on), the KB is: https://support.eset.com/kb3351/
