I cannot activate eis 11. It says Error Code: ACT.0... What is happening there?!

https://support.eset.com/en_SG/kb2434/

But i wouldn't be surprised if this issue is related to the "LiveGrid"  issues what is also happening: (should be resolved)

I'd say try activating again, and if it fails see above KB article

Are you able to open https://edf.eset.com/edf in a browser using the same proxy settings as set in the ESET setup? Ie. if you don't use a proxy, it must not be set in the ESET setup either.

If that works, I'd suggest contacting your local customer care that will provide you with a tool for diagnosing activation issues.

I am able to access EDF.

</ecp:message>

None of the KB articles solved my problem. I login via License Management or directly via Key. It first see my license, asks me to choose then it say "we will activate.." When I click Activate button, it just keep loading then shows error and says ACT.0. Fact is, after this issue I am able to see my PC/device in License management in my.eset.com. But somehow it does not activate my eset.

I tried trial key a moment ago and successfully activated for 6 days. I already sent an e-mail.

Update: Wow. 24/7 support in my country. I called them and they said this is a general issue and will be fixed as soon as possible (max tomorrow). So I will await. Thanks!

I noticed the GUI in the version don't start at logging(it start with delay) and there is a chance to bypass hips rules(because the hips don't work without GUI ) or the real-time protection.

Sometimes I wonder where you come up with this stuff?

Eset's kernel loads very early in the boot process; nothing in ver. 11 has changed in that regard. More so if you are using Win 10 since its ELAM driver processing allows Eset's kernel driver to load prior to any other app kernel mode drivers.

As far as the delayed loading of the Eset GUI in ver. 11, the alert activity from the HIPS will be queued and displayed at GUI initialization time. Something to keep in mind since you could "bork" Win startup processing by creating inappropriate HIPS rules.

It will but not for notification menu because I had OpenVPN in notification menu and Hips allowed it without asking but when I exit it and started it again then Hips asked me for the rule! that was because the Gui was not running at that time.

There is no difference between notification menu and startup entry so hips cant filter starts up entry properly.

Any HIPS allow or deny rules would be applied w/o issue at startup time. The issue is with "ask" rules. They are time dependent. If a response is not received within a specified time interval, the HIPS uses a default allow action.

Also something you may not be aware of. User created rules do not completely override Eset set internal HIPS rules. I do know for sure this applies to both the "Auto" and "Smart" HIPS modes. These rules take precedence over any user created rules. If you don't know what I am referring to, open up the Eset GUI HIPS settings. Then in the advanced section, enable "log all blocked operations." In the HIPS log what you will observe is wording along the lines of "operation partially allowed/blocked" for your user created rules. What this indicates is an internal Eset HIPS rule has taken precedence over your user created rules. Make sure you disable "log all blocked operations" after testing since your HIPS log will rapidly contain many hundreds of entries.

Thanks for the explanation I didn't know that :) Eset needs to provide more details about Hips.

Same! didn't know that :)

"log all blocked operations

it's mostly about blocked actions that want to access Eset processes.

Seems the parental control not working(just wanted to see what is it).
I set some rules but the porn websites are still reachable?
Browser: Yandex!
1-Will it works on every browser?
2-Do you have a database for such URLs?or this is kind of smart blocking?

It should. Try using Google DNS servers 8.8.8.8 or 4.4.4.4 since some routers may have problems with DNS TXT responses.

There's no such list available. Taking into account how many websites exist, I don't think that would ever be possible. Plus it's a website categorization provider that is responsible for website categorization.

As of v10 this should not be present in the run registry key at all as egui is started by ekrn.

In version 11.0.144.0 I had to reactivate this entry, otherwise the GUI does not start anymore.
In the previous version 11 the GUI starts without this entry.

Thanks for the answer Marcos but it didn't work! with vpn==failed without vpn==failed DNS watch dns==failed google dns=failed!
I think that's because of Yandex but I'm not sure.

Any FeeD Back?Eset?pls-.- blocking such URL is like blocking Microsoft.com xd

First of all, this is in no way related to this topic so we kindly ask you to always create a new topic for different issues. As for possible FPs, please refer to https://support.eset.com/kb141/ for instructions how to report them to ESET.

Regarding the IP address, it's an Amazon server that has recently hosted malware . On my system, api.browser.yandex.ru doesn't resolve to IP addresses of Amazon servers and nobody else has reported api.brower.yandex to be blocked.

I know I must create a sperate topic

No, you don't need to report possible FPs here but rather report them to ESET as per the instructions in the above mentioned KB next time.

It's allready said here that ESS form version 11 became EIS with the same functionality. And in previous versions the only difference beetween ESS and EIS was in anti theft feature, in all other they are identical.

EIS is only available in german atm. I live in USA and don't speak german. so EIS 10 which is available, is a downgrade.

Now EIS 11 is available to all. So you can download and install it in English.
