ESET's RKD kext started

Recommended Posts

Just noticed in my 'dmesg' log and in /var/log/system.log, multiple entries of "ESET's RKD kext started" and "ESET's RKD kext unloaded".  Cannot find any reference to this via Google and am wanting to confirm that this is, in fact, part of Cyber Security Pro.  Systems are running latest El Capitan.  ESET version is 6.4.200.1

Can anyone confirm/explain what this RKD is?

Best,

Guitardood

Thanks for the response.  I kind of assumed that it was Rootkit Detection, but my real concern is I've been seeing it start & unload often as of the last few days.  Was there a pushed update or Apple update, changing Cyber Security Pro's behavior or do I need to be concerned about a system infiltration?

Best,

Hello Guitardood,

we were continually enabling this feature for more and more users so there was kind of update regarding this.

In case of a system infiltration it should trigger a detection with an red alert so in case you haven't seen it you can use it without concerns.

Regards, P.R.
