a customer buys two or three separate eset licenses, say one for 50 user, another for 25 user & yet another for 30 user. all the licenses are uploaded to the era. but will i have to manually create separate tasks to activate separate group of computers ? cannot the era handle this automatically, without me having to worry about which license to apply to which group of computers ?

ERA does not have a way of knowing, which license belongs to which group. You can however create 3 static groups (customer 1,2,3) and in each static group also a dynamic one using template "not activated computers". Then create an activation task for each one of the groups, using the proper license and "joined dynamic group trigger". By doing this, every time a new computer appears in the proper group, it will be activated automatically.

PS: if all of the licenses are for one customer, why he does not perform "enlarge" instead of buying new ones? Or they are for different products? (endpoint antivirus, endpoint security...).

requirement was for 50 PCs, but two 25 user retail products ordered, since retail product has maximum 25 user license only, in india.

expectation is that once two or more identical licenses are loaded to era, the server should be able to manage clients automatically, without the admin having to worry about which license needs to be applied to which computer. this would be equivalent to era effectively merging two licenses for administration of all 50 computers. remember, in v5, we never had to worry on this count. we just uploaded two or more identical licenses (files) to the era, & era would not ask us to link the license to computer. it would just manage the 50 computers. though it was loose implementation of licensing policy, i agree.

but this would be a frequent requirement for administrators, where different licenses purchased at different times or at same time by different branch offices, or as in the case above, combined administration of different licenses is required.

Functionality of "merging" licenses and creating "synthetic" license pools is planned for the new version of ESET License Administrator, together with the new major ERA release (q4/2017) which will support it natively. Until then, the only workaround is the one listed above, when you need to manually choose the proper license to be applied.
