What are these numbers?

I observe this in the latest ESS10 version

Those are numbers of settings in a particular setup section that are different from default values.

I don't remember changing most of the settings yet they show up as non-default.

Some settings are populated automatically, e.g. when a new network is detected, it's added to the list of known networks.

I find this one of the best features in ESET SS GUI. AFAIK there's no GUI for any application I use with this very helpful notifications for non-default settings changes. I wish Windows 10 would incorperate this feature.

If you did an ver. 10 upgrade from ver.9 either by online installer or downloading and installing on top of ver. 9, I believe the ver. 10 change settings notifications observed are the ones from ver. 9 settings.

And as Marcos said, the (auto) added firewall rules will generate added number of the made changes vs the venilla clean install!
