Megachip 5 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) Is there any possibility to create unattended installation packages for osx like in windows? Even if i create a remote install package in osx, if the user started it, esets asks again for configuration and so on. thx for help To specify the problem: no apple remote desktop no ssh access to clients => An unattended solution like in windows is requested. Export an install script or the whole installer, which user only starts but have no possibility to configure anything. If this is not possible, is anyone knowing a alternative solution like putting the installation package in a multipackage and doing the installation via console script? best, meg Edited November 22, 2013 by Megachip
drewd 6 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 The following ESET KB article explains how to remotely install ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for Mac OS X: How do I remotely install ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for Mac OS X? hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2524
Megachip 5 Posted September 20, 2013 Author Posted September 20, 2013 Did someon read what users wrote? I have no Apple Remote Desktop (AFAIK it isn't free?). I have no SSH root Access to the user maschines. I Need a package like in Windows, which the user can start and which will installs automaticly without user interaction. It's possible for Windows, it's possible for Linux (via deb/rpm package) but i can't find a way to manage that within osx. THX a lot Best, Meg
Megachip 5 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 No Solutions? Anything planned in near future?
ESET Staff CB530 70 Posted October 31, 2013 ESET Staff Posted October 31, 2013 Hi everyone, @Megachip, the answer to your question is yes, and it's already available. The latest version of ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) allows you to perform remote installation to Mac OS X clients. Here is a link to instructions on how to update ERA. Once you have the most recent version, the push install can be performed using the same procedure you would use to push to a Windows machine. --CB
Megachip 5 Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 @CB530. Thanks for Information. Had 5.1 installed but can't find the Option to Export the installer script. Neither on send via email nor on Export the osx package is listened. the Option you mentioned in your link did not work, cause osx has no ssh deamon running and i've no credentials for These maschines. The procedure on Windows is providing the user a link where he can download the installer (300 kb), which he can doubleclick and nod installed unattended. So how can I provide such procedure for osx? THX a lot, Best, Meg
Megachip 5 Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 ***PUSH*** Please do not forget this problem.
ESET Staff CB530 70 Posted November 22, 2013 ESET Staff Posted November 22, 2013 Hi Megachip, I have looked into this and at this time there is no way to produce a standalone installation package for OS X clients, you must push the package to clients that are connected to ERA. I apologize for the inconvenience and for not getting back to you.
Megachip 5 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 THX, so, is there anything planned to solve this problem? Are there any known work arounds? e.g. Build a metapage which copies the shell script to tmp and launches the installation?
Megachip 5 Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 ***PUSH*** Any suggestions or ideas? I've that problem since almost a year Neither the support nor the board could solve it
