  1. I see that Windows Updates are missing on a client. On the client itself I can see and view the KB numbers in the ESET UI. Is there a chance to see this information from ESMC via the log collection or any other way?
  2. In Windows 10 Pro ESET Internet Security alerts me to Windows Updates that the native Windows Update utility refuses to install or even acknowledge are missing. Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/7Pldo
  3. version 6.4.2014.0 During the automatic update to windows 10 x64 anniversary edition (1607) KB3199209 we have been receiving the error IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on epfwwfpr.sys. Using the windows 10 recovery, command prompt we rename the driver in the system32/drivers folder and allow the update to install. We then install the cumulative updates for 1607. When that update has completed epfwwfpr.sys is restored and no further issues occur. Our initial response was to remove epfwwfpr.sys, deinstall eset, allow the updates to run, reinstall eset. epfwwfrp.sys is version 6.4.2012.0 dated 5/23/2016 Does anyone have another solution for this issue? I have 40+ machines and would like to not need to fix the BSOD on each individual case.
  4. As the title suggests when performing an upgrade of Windows 10 1511 (Education x64) to 1607 the installation fails. I have managed to dig through the logs and found the following in the "c:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log" DRVMIG: Failed to inject driver package in the new OS (payload hardlinked): C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ehdrv.inf_amd64_afab37c21652b95d\ehdrv.inf. Error: 0x80070002[gle=0x0000007a] I believe that ehdrv.inf is an ESET driver. I am wondering if the ESET engineers can take a look at this, as either disabling or uninstalling ESET before doing an upgrade is going to make the task a very tricky process.
  5. Hi ! I using Google Chrome for many years and Eset Smar Security same. I love Eset Smart Security, everything linked to it. I have uninstalled my Google Chrome and then I installed again, and my Banking & Payment security doesn't work. Before Eset detected automatically any banking or payment site like PayPal, but now even if I add it into Protected Websites from Banking & Payment protection doesn't work I'm using Windows 10 and I have the last updates. Can anyone help me? Thank you and best regards.
  6. I just paid for another year of Nod32, it updated me to vs 9.something. I had vs 8 and liked it better. It seemed to be easier to understand and updated every hour. Anyway to go back to that?
  7. Hi guys, I just reinstalled Win7 on my neighbor's Laptop, he had installed Win 10 and since his laptop has a few years, he got fed up with it. Win 10 is just too much for his Laptop. So Win 7 SP1 is all installed and tweaked up nice, I found his NOD32 license, installed the latest version but then Windows Update showed up with a few dozen more updates. Right after installing Win 7, I had done an update and did 163 but... Microsoft had some Mo! No real problem but now, even if I reduced the popup message time down to 3 sec. it's showing that there is still 137 messages to go. Is there a place in the interface where I can check off all remaining messages? For next time... Thx -- Motherdawg I do RPMs I own crappy boxes and endlessly mod games I barely play... except for rFactor. Linux 2.6.32-573.22.1.el6.i686
  8. Wanted to add to another post- Someone else had a recent post RE "ESET Banking & Payment protection" (sic) (lower case p on mine) banking app opening itself. New install of smart security on a clean Win 7 32 bit compaq First ran Eset online scanner & realized I should uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials, during updates, banking icon appeared on desktop. (Later music icon appeared as well) Had opened no other programs or files) Also, had reached Eset.com via IE (no other browsers installed, memory was maxxed) & I was uneasy about possibility of Eset page being a ruse. There was a "My ESET" logo that looked dodgy. Besides pagefil, hiberfil, large number of files (ProgramData,Program, User, Windows) also unavailable to open to scan. boot sector, sys32\sysprep\panther, crypto\rsa\machinekeys,evt logs. Not feeling real confident here. Wants shut down (more updates) Do not want Win 10, trying to keep win7.
  9. Hi, Anyone also experiences that for some servers witf the eset filesecurity installed, the remote administration settings are set to: LocalHost port 2225? As soosn as I changes it, the client announces it in the admin console and all is fine. But after some time, some days it is back to its orginal default setting. I think after a reboot or after windows updates. Very annoying, and also only for 3 of the 7 servers. Any advise would be welcome. I use version 4.5.12017.0 on a W2008 R2 server, but also 1 win7 machine has this. Security updates are working by the way. C.
  10. I've noticed since I installed Windows 10 (clean install) with ESS 9 (clean install) that I get notications for all Windows Updates even though it's set to Critical only. Also half of the updates listed are not shown when I go to windows update? These are usually drivers an optional updates. How do I get to these? Many thanks, Paul.
  11. For the past week, my Eset Smart Security (version 8.0.312.0) has been blocking these two sites even though I did not visit them. They showed up at the bottom right hand side of my screen, "Address has been blocked". Please see the links below: Initially, this one is blocked: hxxp://cache-download.real.com/free/windows/installer/upgradehelper/xml/v11/rp17/stubinst_config_en.xml And now, this is blocked instead: hxxp://cache-download.real.com/free/windows/installer/upgradehelper/xml/v14/rt1/stubinst_config_en.xml?prod=RealPlayer&ver=18.0&distcode=T10ENUH06&loc=au&li=en&oem=rt1_en_us I also experience the same thing when I tried to do a Windows Update. I use Windows 7. Ran in-depth scan twice and no virus was detected. I also ran free version of Malwarebyte and again no threat was found. May I know do the above links pose any threat to my laptop? Are they virus? Why Eset is blocking them? How could I update my Windows then? I am also experiencing problem with my Word document. Sporadic scrambled sentences appear after I make changes, save and open the file. I am not entirely certain whether these two issues are interrelated. Could someone please help me solve these problems? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you. I use Windows 7
  12. After upgrading to Windows 10, NOD32 wasn't working so I did an uninstall and then when attempting to reinstall, comes up with the following error message: The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file: C:\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\callmsi.exe. I did a malware scan and deleted detected items, but still comes up with the same error message. Can anyone suggest how to gett NOD32 up and running again?
  13. The upgrade to Windows 10 has been complete hell so far. ESET's firewall will not load. I says ESET needs to be reinstalled due to probable corruption, yet I can't reinstall. I can't uninstall. I get a message saying "Service 'ESET Service' (ekrn) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services." I can't kill the beast with Windows Task Manager. I have no firewall active. Help!
  14. Hello, I'm trying to make a restoration of my system after a mistake I made a few days ago, but this isn't working with ESET because it blocks the process. How can I restore my system with ESET? How can I exclude the restoration system (if that's what I have to do?). Thanks a lot.
  15. Whenever I activate ess8 protection, windows 8.1 update stops to work. It shows : Windows could not search for new updates. Error(s) found: code 80072EFD Windows update ran into a problem. If I disable ess8 the updates work as usual. What steps are needed to solve this, please? Thanks in advance
  16. An hour ago I got this error code 0x80070652, and it has been quite annoying since then as I have to go through this extremely vast content written on the Internet, and get this – I have not got a single piece of writing I can appreciate. Please make my day! Anyone!!
  17. After installing the November 2014 update rollup for Windows (hxxp://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3000850/en-us) Windows starts to BSOD on boot. Removing ESET Smart Security 8 or the November 2014 rollup fixes the issue. I have tried reinstalling Windows 8.1 and installed all updates. The computer works fine until I install Smart Security 8. Everything is works until the first reboot and then the BSOD on boot starts again. Removing either Smart Security 8 or the November 2014 rollup will fix the issue. My system: Lenovo Thinkpad W520 set to UEFI only Windows 8.1 x64 (with all updates) and bitlocker on all disks Smart Security 8.0.304.0
  18. Just fresh installed my new Windows 8,1 64bit and activated the ESET SmartSecurity license. Everytime I start the PC, I get a warning that ESET protection is disabled. After enabling protection (1 click) things seem normal... until next start. Almost sure this is a bug and there is a conflict between Win8 and ESET app. Did anyone encounter this? How do you fix it?
  19. I recently reinstalled my entire operating system, fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition. Everything was going smoothly, until I tried resarting after installing updates once I had installed Nod32 AV. Upon boot, I would get to the Windows 7 "Welcome" screen, and it would hang there. No amount of time would let it boot into the desktop environment. I booted into safemode, and disabled the ESET service. Now when I booted into normal mode, Windows would get past the "Welcome" screen and get into the desktop environment. There obviously seems to be a clash with Windows 7 and ESET, but I do not want to move to another A/V. Reading this: hxxp://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/eset-causes-desktop-to-not-load.343426/ leads me to believe I have to disable HIPS and uncheck self-defense. Surely this cannot be the only solution? Is there no way to get Nod32 fully working on W7 64bit? Or did I mess up something somewhere?
  20. My work network has some PCs still running Windows XP, and given the ending of support for that OS and the security issues that go along with that, I'm wondering if blocking those PCs access to the internet is worth doing. I have a few queries regarding this - can I use Smart Security's firewall to do this, and if so, how? Can I block internet access while still allowing full access to the local network? Does having access to the network negate the benefits having the XP systems blocked from the internet? The remainder of the PCs on the network are running Windows 7. I'm aware that the best option is to update to a newer OS, but that will mean updating the PCs and while that's the plan at some stage it won't be in the immediate future.
  21. The following common factors seem to have produced problems this week : Windows updates for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, Old PCs - Celeron and Sempron processors, low RAM, Eset. It seems to me that something in the Windows updates downloads triggered Eset scans - which ran constantly, not stopping. Then because the PCs had low specs, effectively they hung up for a LONG time, and users were unable to use the PCs. MS Outlook in particular was not useable at all. We found this on about a dozen PCs at one place yesterday, all old Celerons. They use Endpoint Security through ERAS. This morning we found the same on 4 old Sempron PCs, at a different place. They use Smart Security. I'm just wondering whether anyone else has found the same problem ? I'm not looking for any fix from Eset, because once we'd managed to complete all the Windows updates, the problems went away.
