Unable to install Remote Agent
chris_buck posted a topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Hi, I have a new VM created from a clone in vcenter - windows 2012 64 R2 I am unable to successfully communicate from this one server with the remote administrator server (ERA). On the new server I have turned off windows firewall completely. From the new server I can nslookup to the ERA server successfully From the ERA server I can ping to the FQDN of the new server From the ERA interface I can add the new server by IP address and the FQDN comes up (but I cannot remotely deploy - it says it will but it does nothing) I have deployed agents successully before to other servers From the new server I can telnet to the ERA server on port 2222 When I try to install the agent via the MSI, I get to the point where it tries to talk to the remote admin server and it says "Cannot connect to the remote administration server" Any thoughts would be most appreciated as this is driving me nuts Cheers Chris -
Have tried both deployment from Remote administrator server and local install with different results. From Remote Administrator server the install completes and warning from MacOS appears so I can enable the extensions that are blocked. Following this ESET Antivirus starts (observed in activity monitor) but no icon appears in top status bar. After approx 2 mins ESET process in not responding and needs to be force quit. From local installation at the end it states: "The installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance" I can't find anything to indicate what fails though I do get one error in the system log which I believe to be the extension blocking but I get no prompt to enable it with the downloaded installer. "esets[854]: error[03560000]: ESET Daemon: Command kextload failed. error:0x00" Any help greatly appreciated.
