  1. Hello. I discovered one unpleasant feature of the program. If user go to the section "Network connections", EES automatically starts resolving all IP addresses, all working at this time connections through DNS server(s). Moreover, it resolves even those IP addresses that do not need it. As an example, torrent clients etc.. It is very dangerous because DNS provider in this case sees ALL connection company computer(s), not just those that should be resolved through DNS. This occurs regardless of check "Resolve host names" in "Network connections" section or not. This is definitely not ok. If large companies use their own DNS servers, which are under their full control, then small ones rely on third-party DNS hostings, which can lead to the leakage of confidential information based on dns requests. The EES has no option to disable this behavior. The system administrator of the company can only warn users not to enter the section "Network connections". Please fix this as soon as possible, otherwise you may be bombarded with lawsuits. Steps to reproduce: 1: Open Wireshark program or any other program that can monitor network connections. 2: Open Eset Endpoint Security. 3: Click "Tools" option and then go to "Network connections" section. 4: After this In the Wireshark, you must observe DNS resolving ALL yours working connections at a given time.
  2. Hello, Recently reinstalled Windows 7 and thus reinstalled ESET Internet Security. Apart from the name change of the product a while back the process was just as normal, download the installer, install and put in the license key, wait for the first search and done. However I noticed that the main ESET screen popped up when ever I restarted the computer, the one you get when you open the product from the system tray and have to close down manually. Thought it would go away after a while, you know after I updated drivers, windows updates and so on, but nope. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the product, same issue. Then I googled a bit and found this: https://forum.eset.com/topic/8818-you-are-protected/ So after checking what was advised there I've checked my registry and yup egui is registered under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run egui - REG_SZ - "C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Security\ecmds.exe" /launch /hide I'm not allowed to delete or modify this registry key, I guess I need to take ownership of the registry key and that way delete it? I've also checked MSCONFIG and that show the same thing, I can't disable it from here either, it just goes back to enabled as soon as I click Apply, I also downloaded CCleaner and tried to disable it from that just to check but same result. So is the solution to this to take ownership of the registry key and delete it, perhaps modify it, or what should I do to prevent having to close the main ESET Internet Security window each time I turn on my computer? Regards Richmon
