  1. Hello! We are trying to implement a weekly database scan of all SharePoint Content Databases. In Tools - Scheduler it is possible to select "Regular Database Scan" and also the next configuration steps could be done well. The pain starts with the last configuration when the SharePoint WebApplications where the scan should be done will be selected. If we select a single or all WebApplications everything is fine until we go to the last step to save the configuration. When the save button will be pressed the ESET GUI is doing nothing. It is also not possible to go back to the selection of the WebApplications so a reboot of the Server is needed. I just tried it for many times and also checked the last step after a few hours but nothing was working. I just tested how many characters could be set at the red marked box and it was limited to 1024. So maybe it might have to do with this cause if I select single Site Collectons it will also only take the 1024 characters. Maybe somebody has the same issue and is able to provide a solution. We are using ESET for SharePoint v8.0.15006 Thank you in advance. Michael
  2. Hello, Our company has 6 sites in 4 different time zones. I am trying to configure Endpoint Antivirus (EAV) on all our endpoints in our company to run a weekly scan job every Monday at lunch time. My first attempt was to configure a Client Task in our ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) appliance. In Client Tasks, I can "USE LOCAL TIME" of the target instead of console timezone. That is, the task is run at the local time of the endpoint. However, we noticed the task is not triggered on endpoints that are not permanently connected to our ERA appliance (i.e. laptops on the go). Therefore, I created a policy in ERA to configure EAV's scheduler to run the scan at the appropriate time. Unfortunately, there is no option to let the job run at the endpoint's local time. The scheduled time transmitted to the endpoint appears to be calculated from the timezone of the ERA appliance. For example, with our ERA appliance located in Europe, a task scheduled to run at 11:30 AM in an ERA policy will run at 5:30 AM in Ontario, Canada (or won't run, as the endpoint will likely not be on, that early in the morning). So I went ahead and created four policies for four different time zones to run a scan job every Monday during (local) lunch time. I therefore calculated the time difference between ERA's timezone and the individual sites. It would be acceptable to do the work once, if it wasn't for... Daylight Saving Time (DST). DST requires us to adjust our policy twice a year for two of our sites or otherwise, the job will be run an hour late or early, depending on the time change. Maybe I am overseeing an essential configuration item, but if not, it would be great to be able to set the scheduled job to run at the endpoint's local time, as this would reduce the number of policies and amount of interaction needed to centrally manage endpoints in different time zones. If someone has another useful tip in the matter, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
  3. Hi, so I've been having this problem for a week or so and I can't find a way to fix it. My ESET Personal Firewall + Windows Firewall are turned off for some random reason. It says that I should immediately restart my PC. I restarted it and I got the same message again. I tried re-installing it and nothing happened. When I tried to turn on Windows Firewall it didn't let me because of ESET. I'm using ESET Internet Security 10.0.369.0. Here are some screen shots: I'm usingg Windows 10 Pro. If anyone could help me please reply to this post.
  4. ESET Endpoint Antivirus Version 6.4.2014.0 on Win 7 32 bit O/S These issues were encountered during a regular weekly scan of two internal hard drives approximately 232 GB each + one Western Digital MyBook external drive at 1.3 TB. Scanning all targets via hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2909/?locale=en_USscan setup on scheduler is listed as weekly "in depth scan" - not to be confused with Smart Scan which I never use. Question Plus issues - Why does it take 3.5 hours to scan all these drives ? Email file scanning is disabled. Why (or) is it normal to see numerous scan dialog boxes during the scan ? (see screen capture) When scan is completed the scan results are not kept on the UI after a reboot although they should for further review. I see this as a bug. Can no longer dismiss the scan results dialogue.
  5. Hi all I have set up a scheduled task in an individual installation of Endpoint Antivirus 6 for Windows to run at midnight and would like to have the PC shutdown after the scan is completed. How do I do it? Thanks in advance, IT Dude
  6. I use eset smart security 8 (8.0.319.1) on 2 pc's. 1. win7 pro 64 4GB RAM 2. win10 home 64 8GB RAM on both pc's the system is close to unusable when scheduled on-demand scans run (run them once a week, scans all local drives) reaction time for entering values into cells of excel e.g. sometimes 10sec or more (no formulas to be calculated, just values!) starting other programs like firefox takes up to 1-2 minutes I am about to deinstall it, never had another antivirus which used system resources as heavily as eset does.
  7. I have set up a scheduled task to run daily at 12:00 on a specific EES v6.2 Client running Windows 10 only to find that it actually runs at 20:00. My timezone is GMT+8. Is there something I need to set to get this to run correctly or is this a bug? I can set the task to 04:00 and it will run at the correct time but this doesn't seem especially logical. Thanks
  8. A little background first. My organization currently has a small test environment for EES 6 for Mac and PC. All computers were upgraded from EES 5 (PC) and Nod 32 v4 (Mac). We just began experimenting with v6 policies. First We noticed one of the PCs shows a "Smart Scan" in the computer scan tab with a scan date of 12/31/1969 4:00 PM, which is strange because we did not enable the "First Scan" policy. The scan itself has not made any progress and has been running for two days. The scan still appears in the computer scan tab after several restarts. Second In the computer scan logs, each of the scheduled scans (in-depth scan with strict cleaning, every morning at 1:00 AM) were marked "Scan in Progress." The same thing happens when we perform an on demand smart scan. The Log Files screen also seems to flicker when viewing the computer scan logs. Any ideas/thoughts?
  9. hello, I'm in smart security beta 8, i set up a weekly full scan schedule but it does not do the job no execution during the scheduled task. thanks in advance..
  10. I am using Paid ESET Nod Antivirus v 7.0.302.26 on a Windows 7 machine. I have two types of scans set up in Scheduler: both are on demand computer scans: a daily scan and a weekly deep scan. Both are set up to wait until the next scheduled times to run the scans if the scans cannot be run at the scheduled times. I am finding that instead of waiting for the next scheduled times, the scans run as soon as I log back into my computer which means they are running while I am attempting to use my computer instead of waiting to scan during the early a.m. hours I have scheduled them for. Can someone help me troubleshoot this with me?
  11. Three Questions 1. How can I select the /Library/Mail only directory ito do a quick scan of the mailboxes on my system? 2. How can I set the scheduler to wake up the system from sleep so I can do this scan at 4am before I wake up? 3. Why are MAILBOXES de-selected from the ThreatSense Engine by default? Will ESET delete an entire mailbox if it finds a single virus file inside a single email?
  12. I would like to tweak Update Rollback a bit, i.e an option to choose where Update Rollback files are stored, and confirmation window upon ESET update which asks you to verify where to save Update Rollback files.
  13. Hello, I have just installed the new Nod32 V7. On the pdf documentation, I read on chapter 4.1.1.3.1 "When creating a System startup file check scheduled task, you have several options to adjust the following parameters" and "The Scan level drop-down menu" and "Two specific Scan level". This is not clear. The AV already scans important files when the PC starts, this is not a new feature. However I cannot access these menus. Can someone explain ? Thank you.
