  1. I am installing Eset Mail security v 6, it report the error "error downloading update file download interrupted" known that the internet is stable and the product is activated already
  2. Is there an agent for Windows Server 2000? There is one machine that we need to support that is running Server 2000. I installed EFWS 4 or 5 on it (can't remember) but didn't know if there was an ERA 6 agent for that OS.
  3. Hello Eset We are getting Many Of Issue From Our Partner & Customer That ESET Not Resolve Shortcut Malware/Virus Issue Properly. There is two Issue Regarding USB Removable Drive. 1. System Slow & Flash Drivers Cant open @ Scan Time & SlowDown While We Select Scan Now For Removable Media.(Mostly In Scandisk Pendrive) 2. Regarding Shortcut Virus/Malware. ESET May be Detect and Clean Virus if any But Still Hidden Data Not Shown and Short Cut Link Not Deleted Like Other Antivirus Do. We are Using ESET USB Fixer Utility To Manually Unhide Data. But It is Not Possible at Client Place. We Know about USB Fixer And Using But How Client Know That? If Other Anti Virus Clean Virus and Unhide Folder/Data and Remover Unwanted Shortcut So Why Not ESET? This is Hot Issue in Our Area and because of That Many Partner Switch in Other Anti Virus Software. Dear ESET Team Take Immediate Action and Add. Shortcut Virus / Malware Removal and Unhide Data In Updates So Client Easily Clear Virus and Also Get Data Back. Thanks & Regards Vimarsh Panchal
  4. I'm trying to create a dynamic group to run the ERA6.3 triggered uninstaller. I am migrating from Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 on Windows 7 x64 SP1. I've created a Dynamic Group template with AND (All conditions have to be true) Rules Installed software . Application name contains Symantec Endpoint Protection as well as Installed software . Application name contains Symantec. It doesn't seem to ever match and run the uninstaller. I end up with both SEP and EES running on the test computer. I can manually push the uninstall task on a computer and that does seem to work. What am I doing wrong here?
  5. This is a new one for me. Uninstalled ESET Endpoint Security using the ESET uninstall option for the installation package. I rebooted then installed ESET Endpoint Antivirus. What I got was ESET Endpoint Antivirus Security See attached screenshots. First time I've seen this. ESET version: Macintosh: El Capitan 10.11.4 (non-developer, non-beta)
  6. Hello! I am new to the forum and over a long time i used NOD32 again. Yesterday i was battling a computer virus that basically destroyed windows defender and started making all sorts of interesting stuff like installed all kinds of different programs and disabled this and that, popped up something here and there - it was obvious, i was infected and it scared the hell out of me since it used programs in non readable languages for me, like Chinese and Russian, i had a feeling someone had hijacked my pc, and thats a scary tought aswell. Sadly enough i didnt have antivirus installed before that, i dont know why but i guess i just sort of forgot after being away for a while from computer and its a new one thats been in and out of warranty repairs. Virus was my own fault, i shouldnt have downloaded a file from a random place for a random program. But what im feeling concerned about is that it seems like no matter what, when or how much you pay - it dosent do the trick. Well maybe antivirus wouldnt have let me to open, download or install this file but what if i would have given permission - would be still the same. I didnt know what to do, so i tought if i disconnect pc from internet it wouldnt atleast download anything else in there. And then started to look for the answers. In my bright dream i tought if i give it a try by installing the latest good name Antivirus i would be saved, and if so i would definitely pay for the thing after the trial is over. I got myself an NOD32 smart security trial. Eventually it found few errors here and there, deleted them but that was it - the virus was still full blown. What saved my life was youtube video which to good luck lead to numerous videos about the same virus infection (Tencent). After a while i started following the video step by step which ended up in manually deleting registry keys and what not - it looked good, something was going on and it felt like im going to actually kill it. Drawback - eventually the good news stopped, i had run into the end of that, unable to delete the last ones. I found another video that this time wanted me to download the reigstry cleaner adw or something like that. Step by step again and eventually - its gone, all the side programs seem to have disappeared too. But then it hit me - is it really worth paying for Antivirus if it dosent do the trick? Sure it would warn me for things and it would kill all the flies in the knife fight but i would still get stabbed. I dont know what sort of information the virus creator or user has about me, my banking or what ever else. I dont understand if a virus could be defeated by a step by step by registry cleaner program, why cant a big name Antivirus do that for me. Its looking very bad for me, Antivirus not fighting my viruses, windows not finding all the drivers and updates if it actually needs to repair something it tells me everything is up to date, new windows and/or computer functions need to be manually set to normal because the new Windows is the new thing and we dont do things the normal way anymore. I feel good that i have helped myself with basically googling and tubing but to me it looks like it shouldnt be like that, we should be able to trust and lean on software developpers that have it all, especially if we are paying them. I hope i have seeded good toughts out there for regular users and developers and other like me. I am sorry for my English, its not my mother.. All the best!
  7. Hello team, We are facing an issue with the Migration from 5.x to 6.x - Unable to export from Migration tool. I have already installed the ESET V6.3 on the new server and im able to login to web console. Now the migration process is in progress where I’m unable to export old database from the old server using the migration tool. PF below link where we are facing the same issues. https://forum.eset.com/topic/6748-migration-from-5x-to-6x-unable-to-export-old-database/?hl=migration+tool And if I manually stop the Remote Administrator Service and continue, the next error is the same as the link below https://forum.eset.com/topic/5681-era-5-migrating-to-era-6-migration-error/?hl=migration+tool#entry32447
  8. Hi everybody, I use ESET products for a long time now, but I never had a problem I couldn't resolve by myself. I try to update my ESET Endpoint Antivirus by deploying the package 6.3.2016.2 FR.fr by ERA, but it fails. In the computer's log I only found this line : Error: CSystemConnectorModule [Thread a60]: Software installation failed: Package is corrupted or incomplete and nothing in the server's log (only this) : Information: CReplicationModule [Thread 10d8]: CReplicationManager: Accepted potential replication connection from 'host: "pcw7tnsfr.inrs.fr" port: 49887' (product type: 1) Do someone have any clue ? Thank you. Renaud
  9. I had hoped the issue would be solved, but I am still getting an error message 'adding root cerificate to all known browsers failed' after every reboot. System: W10-64 ( Version 1511, fully updated) Firefox latest rev NOD32 9.0.349.15 Besides that there are no error messages or operational issues. Can someone clarify ?
  10. Does ESET Remote Administrator 6 Virtual Appliances supports in Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization? If yes, then kindly guide the steps how to do the import.
  11. We have several machines that are trying to connect and update at the same time on our network. This is causing a slowdown that is interfering with other processes.. We are currently using ESET remote admin 4.0138.0 (Not against updating it but that is for another time). With all of our client machines using ESET 4 As the title says, is there anyway to stutter or limit the amount of active downloads the server is giving at once? I want all the machines to update but doing so at the same time is straining our system.
  12. Eset often shows me a lack of system-updates, which Windows 10 itself does not offer. Is it a harmless way to install the system-.updates via Eset or should I better use the Windows-update-funktion? Thanks a lot!

  16. Hello, Question. I have a Virtual Appliance running ESET remote administrator web console. The "Last Connected" times haven't updated for quite awhile. 17. Following on the heels of this thread: https://forum.eset.com/topic/7604-eset-endpoint-security-6-ssl-inspection-thunderbird-need-peer-review/?hl=firefox We are deploying EES 6 to computers running Firefox 44.0.2 under Microsoft Windows 7 x86 and x64. Using GPO and MSI Computer Policy, the computers are installing EES at first reboot after GPO is applied (while sitting at CTRL+ALT+DEL screen). EES 6 is installing the ESET root certificate in the TRCA store without issue and no users are logged on. Once the user logs on and launches Firefox, the usual SSL errors begin to appear. Looking in all of the affected Firefox computers, the ESET certificate is not in the Firefox store. I have: Rebooted Run ESET GUI with Firefox closed Run ESET GUI with Firefox opened Redeployed ESET to a small number of the affected computers Nothing seems to get the ESET certificate added to the store. Any options for getting the certificate imported?

  22. A security researcher recently discovered vulnerabilities in many software installers including Java, WinRAR, Python, Panda Security, TrueCrypt/VeraCrypt, Emsisoft, Trend Micro, Avast, McAfee and more. ESET is also a part of the list. Basically the vulnerability is an issue with DLL files, which are automatically loaded by the installer (which is usually executed from the downloads folder). If wrongly implemented these files are loaded from the current folder, which is the download folder. As most installers request admin rights this is a privilege escalation, because some untrusted DLL files are loaded and executed with admin rights. If an attacker can convince a user to download some badly crafted DLL files and later an installer with such a vulnerability is executed by the user, the DLL is loaded and malicious code may be executed. A way to prevent such attacks is to copy all installers into an empty directory before executing or to make sure there are no rogue DLL files in the Download folder. So why I am posting this is not only because of the general suggestion, which is a good thing to know, but also because of the Timeline included in the error report for ESET: So according to this ESET has not yet replied or releases a fix in the installer. Can someone of the mods comment on this and possibly say whether the installers are still vulnerable and when this will be fixed?
  23. Hi My Virus Signature 12591 is stuck since 09/02/2016 any help would be appreciated. JB
  24. hello everybody, I am trying to install ERA on a centos 7 machine, I have installed mysql and checked there is one and only one my.cnf file, with the section: [mysqld] max_allowed_packet=33M However I keep getting the error: Error: Database does not support big blocks of data. Unable to continue. Please reconfigure database first. I restarted mysql and the machine; in the installer log there is no much more indications, is there any additional log I can check ? thanks and best regards
