Website is blocked by ESET with a JS/Agent.rjr Trojan Warning
itman replied to kichus's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
Same here using Firefox. However, Sucuri detects web site injection. It could be Eset Secure Browser mode for EIS and ESSP is blocking the code injection. It also appears to be an infected WorkPress plug-in, http://infinitumpartners.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/OTP2-Dark-overlay-60.jpg?id=3552 -
Trusting no one or anything when it comes to on-line banking, my standard procedure using B&PP is to check FireFox cache at its startup and to clear the cache prior to B&PP shutdown. This afternoon, I start B&PP via desktop icon option. Note I have B&PP option to protect all browsers disabled. I check FireFox cache and it shows 14 MB. Err...tha's not right. I clear the cache and proceed with the B&PP session. At end of the B&PP session, I check my User Temp file and there is a newly created 14MB file named tempaddon. I submit it to VT: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/32d544baf2facc893057a1d97db33207e642f0dacf235d8500a0b5eff934ce03 . VT states its a .zip file masquerading as a Chrome extension. The .zip file also contains a Win PE in it. Err ........... what? The .zip file is named 4.10.2710.0-win-x64.zip which interestingly VT originally showed before changing the detection to tempaddon. First, how was a alias Chrome extension created in Firefox in B&PP mode and why was it apparently allowed to load since B&PP is supposed to block all extensions from loading? tmpaddon.zip

Disturbing B&PP Behavior
itman replied to itman's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Got this straightened out although I don't like what I am seeing. Eset creates a separate Firefox profile for B&PP use. The Google WideVine plug-in updated yesterday on the B&PP Firefox profile. Why it took six days to do so is beyond me. I had used B&PP after 10/13. Also not explained is why the update was sitting in FireFox's cache with tmpaddon file created in user Temp directory. -
Hello. In all browsers, i.e. Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and the antivirus one, the eset badge/logo appears on the right side of the screen (photo) and a green frame appears around it, I like it, and the problem is that in the browser I use, i.e. CHROME, it does not a green frame or logo appears on the right side of the screen. It only doesn't work on the CHROME browser. On others it works without any problems. I would like it to work on Chrome as well. I have everything turned on in the settings / I reinstalled the browser and it didn't help. Can you help enable this feature on CHROME? <---- this one.

Hey Forum, are there any known issues with ESET Full Disk Encryption and Firefox Certificate Store? A customer reported several occurences where firefox reported a broken certificate store after setting or changing the encryption password in FDE. Said it never happened before installing FDE. Maybe it's a coincidence with installing Endpoint Security at the same time? (Which should not affect certificate stroe as well?) Thanks in advance! Christian

It is me again. EDGE and Firefox have automatically update itself today. Popups of ESET appeared asking for approval to allow them to access network. But upon investigation, I found they have a reputation of red and ESET is unable to recognize them. Did someone get them hijacked or modified? Please help again.

Ok, thanks for details. But when I tested it this way, it also works for me (at least for Firefox). Can you confirm that this scenario doesn't work for you? If it doesn't work, please try: Restart PC Login on different browsers (Firefox/Edge/Chrome) Login to 2-3 sites (to verify that it's not an issue of specific website/input combinations) and let me know. Thanks

We can check it, please download ELC and follow few steps: close Firefox browser go to ESET Internet Security > Help and support > Technical support > enable advanced logging open Firefox (I expect that you still see only "Progress. Protected." deck) disable advanced logging collect default logs using ELC and upload it here (don't worry, only ESET staff can download logs) Thanks

The problem only manifested itself after it updated to firefox 99. The ssl error messages are random in nature and refreshing the page cures it. I reset firefox to default and still the issue occurred. Since turning off ssl in Eset the errors have now gone. I have no issues with other pc's running eset and the same build of firefox. I haven't seen it in other browsers but i don't use them very often. Eset hasn't logged any errors although there is a schannel error A fatal error occurred while creating a TLS client credential. The internal error state is 10013

In Firefox i tried to check the Checkbox "General -> Startup -> Open previous windows and tabs" but the checkbox is'nt free. Above the Checkbox is a text "Your browser is managed by your Organisation" Google search gives hints to generally internet-Security-suites. Few weeks ago I changed from kaspersky to ESET. How can I fix this?

Hello. In the last three weeks I have suffered sporadically something similar, only happens in the Firefox browser, not in Microsoft Office in any of its programs (neither Word, nor Outlook, nor Excel, nor PowwrPoint...) nor any program in which you can write in. I thought my keyboard was failing, although it would be weird if only failed in Firefox, but seeing this already raises my doubts as to whether I have the same problem. Is it possible? Best regards.

Ver. 17.0.3 Secure Search Issue
constexpr replied to itman's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Does it work, when you enable Secure search and grant permissions to all urls? Firefox doesn't grant you to get those permission right after install, you (user) need to do an extra action to allow extension to access those sites. That's main differences between Firefox and Chrome/Edge version, where those permission are (for now) granted after install automatically. -
Ver. 17.0.3 Secure Search Issue
itman replied to itman's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
A few final comments here. When the EBP&S add-on successfully installed in Firefox, it did so with its toolbar icon hidden. Since the Secure search option is disabled by default, I can anticipate a whole bunch of forum postings about Safe search not working right. Next is the EBP&S add-on permissions upon installation. Advanced permissions; i.e. access on all web sites, is disabled. I would think this has to be enabled for this add-on to function properly? Finally, my initial testing yields Google search results always show with green check mark enabled. I displayed a bunch of porn web sites; etc,, and they all showed as safe. Perhaps uBlock Origin, Google Safe Search, plus Firefox internal blocking is doing this, but that seems "a stretch." -

Maybe this is related to the Firefox issue; Refer to above Process Explorer screenshot for Firefox as to what is loaded extension-wise. -
Ver. 17.0.3 Secure Search Issue
itman replied to itman's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Here's the results. First, fix your pre-release servers download speed. It took forever to download the update on my 1 GB network connection. As far as the notification issue to add EBP&C add-on on both Firefox and Edge, it appears on both. So it appears that issue is fixed. Edge EBP&C add-on appears to work as designed. Settings are accessible and configurable. Only issues I found were; 1. The add-on needs to be configured in Edge to always show on its toolbar. 2. A lag in rendering of search results reputation; i.e. green checkmark. Search results display and then later the green checkmarks. 3. Use of cmd.exe to process Eset EBP&C add-on will require modification of Eset HIPS rules if one if monitoring cmd.exe child process startup. Firefox Unfortunately, nothing has changed in regards to prior issue. The EBP&C add-on settings do not show and cannot be configured. Also, the add-on is not functional in that for search results, Eset reputation status; i.e. green check mark, does not display. Notice the lack of cmd.exe use to load EBP&C add-on? Also conhost.exe running as child process to EBP&C add-on versus the reverse? -
Ver. 17.0.3 Secure Search Issue
constexpr replied to itman's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Firefox extension can be installed only from Firefox addons store. How did you open it, you search for ESET extension on store, or link with store was open after you click on product notification? Is the extension behavior (just ESET deck logo) the same for Chrome/Edge? If the extension still looks like on your screenshot (for any of the mentioned browser), can you please send us ELC log, when browser is open? Thanks -

ESET Service - Firewall Helper

The extension is not supported in Brave. If you keep it in Chrome, Firefox and Edge, does the issue occur? -
ESET Browser Privacy & Security extension doesn't work without ESET product and for now there are some technical reasons in the background, why another Chromium/Firefox based browsers are not supported. We know about it and we're working on it so I believe you will see the extension working on Brave soon.
