Hello. Can you provide the sysinspector log? If not can you at least confirm that there is a DNS Server record in the DNS Servers in Network Connections that has status unknown (5) ? If so then this problem was fixed and the fix will be released soon.
Yes, there is a '5: Unknown' in the status field. Here is the SysInspector Log file -

Use SysInspector Log Viewer in web console, I saw an unexpected error. How to resolve this problem? If I download the zip file of SysInspector Log and use SysInspector to open it. Everything is fine.

Okay.. I know why is the problem.. Because I restore database from another ERA server. So the user 'era_user' already exists in SQL server. Thank you.

Hello,
Further error details are contained in an installation log, these logs are saved in the 'logs' folder in the location from where you ran the installation (setup.exe).
I can't find out helpful information from log files. Could you take a look the log files, please? Thank you.

I try to install ERA v6.2.171.0. I've an old ERA server want to move another one. So I backup the database in old server. And Install SQL express in new server. Then restore database into SQL in new server. Everything is fine so far.
Then I run Setup.exe to install ERA Server.. But I got the below error message. And I found out a strange thing. I don't change anything in the new server. Just close the setup window. Then run it again. Second time it still failed. But third time, no found any error message. I could install finished. What problem is this?
OS: Windows 2008 SP2

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. Could ESET consider to let the 'Threat' filed editable in ERA 6 policy? If so, that would be great. Sometimes, we want to enable detection of potentially unwanted/unsafe applications, but a few applications that we need to run also be detected. I known it's not FPs. So if we can just exclude specific threat, should help us to easy management ESET antivirus software. The threat string is not so hard to get, we could exclude it form any client first. Then copy it to right place.

According your issue... If the client get the tasks from ERA server's policies.. It can be executed in any network, in company local network or out of company network. Because the tasks are stored in the client.

Try this:
0 0/15 * * * ? *

Hi there,
I setup two update profiles following the instructions of this article: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3621/
The default profile is set to update from the mirror, which is working perfectly. If the client cannot connect to the mirror it should automatically update from the internet. The policies are applied fine, but if I disconnect the laptop from the network and press "Update now" I get "Could not connect to server". So I guess the second profile is never applied? I set the Server to automatic and entered my licence username/password below.
Can someone explain to me whats going wrong or how to do it? ;-)
Thanks,
Roesch
"Update now" always use default update profile. If you want to use dual update profile, you have to setting a schedule task, for example "regular automatic update task". If you want to test it, you should run "regular automatic update" schedule task manual.

ESET has publish the news hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=NEWS324&actp=RSS&locale=en_US today.
I try it in Windows XP SP3 and EES 6.1.2227.0. First I've confirm the Internet protection module is 1173.9 (20150617). I found the IE 8.0.6001.18702 don't work. I also test with Google Chrome 43.0.2357.132 and Firefox 36.0.4. Both of them work well. So if the function don't support IE8 or I do something wrong ?

Dear Aswath,
Use the latest product version(ESET Endpoint Antivirus 6)
Maybe your issue will be resolved.
There's absolutely no difference between Endpoint v5 and Endpoint v6. Even if it was possible to decode encrypted files, a dedicated stand-alone decryptor would need to be used.
If be infected by Win32/Filecoder, could ESET provide any solution to decode encrypted files ?
-
I'd suggest ESET give us a tool for easy to backup/restore ERA database, even let's to migrate ERA server from one server to another server. That would be great.
-
Hmm.. Which browser are you using? Is it fully up to date? I'd try using a different browser first and seeing if that resolves.
Also, what's your environment? Server OS and version? What version of ERA server? etc.
I run the Web Console in Chrome v43.0.2357.81 in Ubuntu 15.04 (x64).
The ERA Server is v6.1.437.0, OS is Windows 2003 SP2 x86.

Maybe you should try to get data from 'Logged users history' category, not 'Logged users'.

Two weeks passed, this problem still in there.. Why?
-
We're still waiting for a response from other colleagues. As a workaround, you could download the installer, put it to a local share and use the path to the repository in the form "file://\\%unc_path_to_msi%".
Okay, that's a solution for now. But in ERA6, how could I assign x86 and x64 install files to deploy in one task?
-
Hello,
thank you for your report, we will check it.
P.R.
Did you process the issue? I've check the version of zh_TW package in repository still 6.0.12032.2. I create task to deploy it. But it always failed. There is an error message in trace.log "Error: CSystemConnectorModule [Thread bf0]: Software installation failed: Package is corrupted or incomplete". But I could make sure the file is fine. I run the file efsw_nt64_cht.msi to install from "c:\windows\temp\<random code>".. No any problem.
I also do a test.. Choose the en_US package in repository to deploy in the same task, it work well.
Please check it if you need fix something in your repository. Thank you.

Make sure your license is for EEA and you have installed EEA, or your license is for EES and you ave installed EES.
I had this once, it's becuase I'd accidentally installed EES instead of EEA.
Thank you for your reply. My license is for EES/EFSW. And I activate from EFSW gui directly, it can work. So I wonder the license is right.

I want to install ERA Agent in Windows XP SP3. But I got the 'Run As' message box after run EraAgentInstaller.bat. If I change the line in EraAgentInstaller.bat
echo.UAC.ShellExecute "msiexec.exe", params, "", "runas", 1
to
echo.UAC.ShellExecute "msiexec.exe", params, "", "", 1
It can work. Do I have to change something to resolve the 'Run As' problem?

Dynamic group template by computer name
in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Posted
I'd like to create a dynamic group template by computer name. But the rule has only two conditions: equal / not equal. Could I use others conditions like contains, has prefix, has postfix, has mask, regex, in, in (string mask) ? For example, all computers' name start with AA, then AA001, AA002, AA003... could be assigned into the dynamic group.
