I'm having the exact same issues...had to disable the HTTPS scanner function to fix the problem...this surely is a major bug the this latest version and am surprised that it doesn't seem to be addressed as one here...shocking coming from such a reputable company as ESET ?????? Come on guys...get on the ball here.
