  1. If you hide the green frame, it still flashes up when you open the browser to show it's secured. I recently used my laptop whilst travelling on a public wifi network and there was an amber frame with eset warning me this was an insecure network and the frame was constantly there. So it seems like you will get amber frame and red frame warnings to alert you, even if you don't have the green frame constantly visible.
  2. thanks @Marcos this is why I always stay with Eset the support is excellent I have been trying to work it out myself and also have an old Win7 laptop with a licensed Internet Security. When I turned it on and it updated Eset to the latest version, it immediately caused the same problem with Windows Live Mail. So I could reproduce it. I tried turning on pre-release updates but they didn't solve it. I solved that connection problem on the first computer though because it was not happening on my old laptop. Turning off the client integration allows me into the mail programme. I looked at the pop3 error message code (it fails immediately, doesn't even try to connect to the net) on google and it turns out it means the message list is corrupt. I found a simple registry change which makes WLM rebuild the message list and it connects fine now! So the problem is just with the spam integration only. I will have a go with the DBI exclusion. Is it the setting under HIPS and then I add windows live mail to exclusion under Deep Behaviour Inspection? I will give this a go and then see if I can use the spam integration again. Thanks
  3. Hi, I have a really old Windows 7 machine which is not my main computer and I use the old Windows Live Mail 2012 on it as really an archive for my email. It still works fine until the computer updated to Internet Security 14.2.10.0. After restart, it now illegal errors on start. It was working fine up to that moment or restarting for the update. I turned off the email client integration and it opens again without crashing. So I can access my email boxes. But now sending and receiving ends in popmail failure. I have tried turning off the pop3 scanner and also disabling firewall and protection. It just can't seem to connect anymore to send or receive. Could this be a bug in the new update? It was working fine until eset updated. WLM does not seem to be corrupted and there is internet access on the machine. I can load websites. Any ideas? I wanted to report it in case anyone else is affected by it. Dan
  4. thanks Marcos It is Internet Security as well as Smart Security Premium affected
  5. This is definitely new since the last update (11.2.63.0) on Windows 10 and the trick with the Privacy in Windows only works for things that use the feedback hub and use the webcam. I presume it's not supposed to notify every single time something accesses it, it's got confused with the setting that asks you permission each time. I have tried and there is no way to make it a rule so it doesn't notify again.
  6. Glad you found the issue Marcos, let me know if you would still like the logs but it looks like you have solved it now. My webcam is listed under "Cameras"
  7. I collected the logs and like RGM17 said, let me know the best way to send to you. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version 11.1.42.0 and it is working fine now! I have Windows 10, not prerelease (fall creators update). device control off. My laptop is almost brand new and the webcam is built in and called EasyCamera (by Realtek). So for me it was something with the update process rather than full install.
  8. I also have this problem. It started for me with Win 10 and 11.1.40.0 this week and now my version seems to be 11.1.42.0 and still have it on internet security. I tried cybot's methods to remove the webcam, and reinstall and it fixes it but when you restart your computer it happens again. I had a skype call whilst the module was working okay and interestingly it did not ask me to add the webcam (newly reinstalled) to protection, so the module was not actually working properly. Before it would pop up when you used a camera. For now I have just disabled the protection, it seems to be broken.
