  1. I am having the following problem with ESET Nod32 AV 9 on 2 computers, both are running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. The latest versions of Java, Flash, Shockwave, etc.are installed on both computers. When navigating to the web adress hxxp://www.itv.com/tvguide with the HTTP scanner activated the TV Guide does not load. For some unknown reason the HTTP scanner is blocking the loading of the TV Guide on the page. The rest of the page loads but its taking longer than a minute for it to appear. (I've enclosed a screenshot of what loads to illustate the problerm) When I turn the HTTP scanner off, the page loads immediately, incuding the full TV Guide. The problem is happening in all of the latest releases of the browsers I have installed on both computers, Opera, IE 11, Edge, Firefox and Waterfox. I have been in touch with ITV.com and they have advised that the TV Guide is working as normal. Here is the reply ITV.com have sent to me: "Hi, Thanks for getting in touch. I have tested the TV Guide on the ITV Hub and I can't replicate the issue you describe with the Guide not loading. It may be a good idea to clear your cache and cookies by checking out the instructions found at:- hxxp://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/ If you continue to experience issues it you might want to use a different web browser such as Google Chrome. You can download Chrome at:- https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html Don't hesitate to come back to me if you have any further questions. Many Thanks Bobby ITV Viewer Support" Does anyone have an idea as to why the HTTP scanner would be blocking the TV Guide on the webpage? (This problem is being caused by the HTTP scanner and not the HTTPS scanner) I have already tried uninstalling NOD32, running CCleaner and then re-installing NOD32. After a clean re-install of NOD32 the problem still occurs. Here is a list of the modules and components I currently have installed. 2. My fathers computer in the UK (I live in The Netherlands) is now experiencing exactly the same problem with https scanning as described above. He is using the latest version of Eset Smart Security. This looks like a rather serious bug if you want my opinion. Th only way I found to resolve this problem was to roll back my entire Win 10 OS using Acronis to a backup with NOD32 v8 on it, unuinstall ver.8 then install version 9. What a pain all told. I'm just waiting for NOD32 v9 to begin acting up again and start blocking https websites and images for no reason. I see that I am not alone with this issue. Eset Smart Security users are now also beginning to have this issue: https://forum.eset.com/topic/6579-https-scanner-completely-blocking-access-to-https-sites/
  3. Bad news, it worked fine for 2 days after doing a complete fresh re-install of NOD32 AV 9, now all https websites are again being blocked by NOD32 AV9's https scanner for no reason. This really is now getting extremely irritating. I have been using NOD32 for over 10 years and I've never had this nonsense with Eset products before. Why is NOD32 AV 9 intermittently blocking https websites and not allowing downloading of images on certain sites for absolutely no reason on one of my computers? What is the HTTPS scanner playing at? Date and time are correct, all internet security settings in Windows 10 Pro are set to default and Win Firewall is set to allow NOD 32. The only difference between the 2 computer I am running NOD32 AV 9 on are that one is Win 10 Home and the other is Win 10 Pro. On my Win 10 Home laptop, NOD 32's https scanner is not blocking any of the sites that are being blocked on my Win 10 Pro desktop. All NOD32 settings on both computers are exactly the same, except now I have to keep switching off the https scanner on my Win 10 Pro computer to access https sites.
  4. Have you tried uninstalling NOD32 and then doing a complete fresh install? I was having https protocol problems with NOD32 and reinstalling solved the issue.
  5. I've just done a complete re-install of NOD32 AV 9. I totally removed it from my system and then re-installed it. So far, this seems to have resolved the problem. Something must have gone wrong with the update from AV 8 to 9 I think. With the fresh install, I'm getting access to all https sites and images/ pictures are being downloaded on webpages as they should.
  6. Many thanks for your replies. I've reset my internet options security settings to default, restarted the computer and switched on the https scanner. The sites and webpages are loading again as they should. @stackz "The correct settings should be enabling all the TLS entries and disabling SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 as depicted." These were the settings I was already using in internet options for TLS and SSL. The odd thing with this problem is that it happens intermittently. For a few hours I'll have no problems with getting access to https websites with the https scanner activated, then they are suddenly blocked, but only on my desktop computer. The laptop has no problem with the sites when I check to see if the site is causing the problem. As I've just changed the internet options security settings back to default and I'm getting access to https sites, I'll keep an eye on the problem to see if it keeps occuring. Update: I spoke too soon. After a second computer restart, https sites are again all blocked when the https scanner is switched on. (Internet options security settings are set to default)
  7. I have Nod32 AV 9 installed on a desktop and on a laptop. Both computers are running Windows 10, 64 bit and have all the current Windows Updates installed. NOD32 is also fully up-to-date. Nod32 AV 9 works fine on the laptop. On the desktop, Nod32 has recently been giving me a 'Secure Access Failed' on certain https websites in Firefox. In other browsers, I'm being told the website is not available. On other websites it is blocking the downloading of images/ pictures but does download the text, www.theguardian.com being one of them and https://forum.eset.comanother. This is happening on the following web browsers, Firefox 41.0.2, Opera 32.0.1948.69, IE 11, Microsoft Edge. This problem is also effecting the downloading of windows updates. To see if the websites really are not available, I have checked on my laptop, which has the https scanner switched on, and I get immediate full access to all the https websites I am having problems with on my desktop. The only way to get access to https sites on my desktop is to switch off the Web Access https scanner in Nod32 AV 9 altogether. With that setting switched off in Nod32, I gain access to the effected sites and pictures properly download on the others. I am not using any proxy and I use identical settings for Nod32 AV 9 on my laptop and desktop, I have gone through my setting on both computers with a fine toothed comb to check they are identical. Switching off my Windows Firewall has no effect on the problem. As mentioned, the only setting that seems to be stopping access to sites on my desktop is the Nod32 AV 9 HTTPS scanner. Is this a known problem, is there a fix for it and what could be the cause?
