  1. @TomasP Yes i was going to mention it as i received the first email notification around 16 hours ago Thanks
  2. Have you checked the troubleshooter to see if anything is being blocked that shouldn't be ??? SETUP > NETWORK PROTECTION > TROUBLESHOOTING WIZARD
  3. Thanks for checking that out @TomasP 😃
  4. Same thing happened a while back where i never received any email notifications of new content posted to the sections of the forums i am subscribed to and it rectified itself. Checked all my preferences and its all still set up properly ............ Last email notification is received was on 17/06/20 😕
  5. Never heard of it, but ccleaner is free and probably does as much as this paid application.
  6. At least it's not a hardware issue then . Im just a user on the forums myself and dont have access to your logs but if you are running any other security software in the background that is checking data that is read or written to the disk then maybe temporarily pausing/disabling it and manually running the update within the eset gui and see if that works. Maybe your Acronis software has something running in the background too that could cause the issue and it might be worth temporarily pausing this too while manually running a eset update.
  7. When you type "cmd" into your start menu (windows 7) or search in windows 10 , use right click and select run as administrator. Then run chkdsk
  8. Seen other people mention that they have issues when using a vpn but have never encountered any issues myself. I use "Windscribe". Very little difference for me between the connections.
  9. Has anyone been playing around with the buttons on the monitor and changed the tint or colours of the screen within the settings ?? Plus check that the monitor cable is no loose
  10. @Kristal You do have the option of blacklisting url's manually if you do not want anyone accessing websites containing that sort of content.
  11. Just a repeat of what @Marcos said above. ESET products are not an anti piracy solution but a security product. There are entities (bodies) that deal with piracy in general. The only connection is that a large volume of pirated products are generally where viruses and malware are placed and why ESET and other security products detect them.
  12. As it's a problem that's very limited in the amount of sites that it affects , i am still inclined to believe its an issue that firefox is creating itself. If it was Purely a firefox-Eset certificate issue , then all sites would be affected in firefox. Could be the way that firefox renders code from certain pages. Or the newly introduced "standard" security measures built into the newer builds of firefox. As this part where you should be able to click on the "site information or padlock icon" in firefox should allow you to exclude these sites from the inbuilt security features baked into the browser .......... and it's not present(faulty). This is probably the 3rd site that i have seen with the same issue, from the pile of websites that i frequently visit. Id personally just use another browser for a single website , rather than going and temporarily disabling ssl or creating any sort of exclusions just to have it work in firefox. But that's down to personal preference.
  13. Hmm the same SSL certificate is present in edge and works perfectly.
  14. At a guess i would say this is more down to issues with the browser. Im the same, it works in ms edge , but fails to load in firefox. Since firefox 67 i have had various issues on websites , so its nothing new
  15. Setup > Network Connections and check the troubleshooting wizard at the bottom for recently blocked communications for anything related to SAGE software.
  16. I have the same but it just seems to be an informative alert rather than a genuine fault.
  17. @cmit and @itman I'd say the firefox world has big problems, never seen any update for any software that has actually changed the installation folder without any user interaction 🙃, plus the delivery was via an in product update. I also see that after the 66.0.4 update , there is another (in product update) tonight to 66.0.5 ............ lets see what this breaks 🤒
  18. I guess this is more related to the issue that mozilla had 2 days ago , where a bug caused all extensions to be disabled. Then a workaround was issued and since then ESET has cleaned and deletged all my firefox profile and cleaned 3 files on my PC too. Now firefox isnt even installed in c:\program files or even c:\program files (x86). but in a "Appdata" Id say its a mozilla issue but it really needs investigating, im going to submit a bug report and file.
  19. @TomFace Likewise mate , always nice to keep in touch The reason i was asking about passwords on log on is that i have observed that the splash screen wont appear when you allow windows to sit on the lock screen "awaiting password" for any more than a few seconds(5-10 ish). I assume that it's because ESSP is loading prior to even reaching the lock screen (to protect from boot, as you would expect) , and the splash screen is loading (behind the lock screen) and why "in my case" that if i don't input my password when i first reach the lock screen (pretty much immediately) that i don't get to see it. I can replicate this either way 100% each time, put password in quickly and i see the splash screen or have a delay when inputting password on the lock screen and i don't get to see it. It does however load without issue and sits loaded in the system tray properly (as expected). Neither do i have any issues with it registering with windows security centre or it remembering size or location of the GUI position on my desktop (or opening closing). I'm on windows 10 x64 (for reference). What you and @SCR have happening is a different kettle of fish entirely , especially if it's affecting it loading to the system tray and not registering with windows security centre.
  20. @TomFaceIf you have to use a password to log into windows (depending on how quick you type) , the splash screen can load and disappear before you even hit the desktop. @TomFace/ @SCR , did you both do an in product upgrade to v12
  21. The scare stories about windows 10 are exaggerated. It's a far more secure version of the o/s than previous versions. Like every release of windows, the driver support was poor at the start but its been out so long now that these issues are all overcome. The installer in the new builds now gives you the option to disable all the things that people complained about on it's release (telemetry) . It's been a great o/s from my point of view and never had any issues whatsoever
