Why is ESET failing so bad?

I'm relatively new to ESET but I am very pleased with it. -
Idle state detection not showing in scan log
jadinolf replied to jadinolf's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
I'm sorry. I didn't tick "enable logging". Some day I'll get this all figured out. -
This is a new (9/13) install of Windows 7 and NOD32. Idle state detection is not reported in Scan Log. I obviously have something set up wrong, but what? Can you help? Thanks

Thank you very much.

This is a new one on me. On one computer I get the message : "Virus signature update ended with an error" My last successful update was 9/10/2013 I am using that computer for this post so it certainly is on line. I've given up trying to get a successful update so I am coming to you experts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Something to share with my favorite forums
jadinolf replied to Arakasi's topic in General Discussion
Very nice. Thank you. -
Running beautifully. I now have licensing for four of my computers - 3 Windows 7 and 1 XP SP3. I now have my 2014 licenses on the way. At my age I might not be around to activate them.

For the record, that Newegg deal is FREE after rebate if you are on Newegg's mailing list. My present license for 3 computers doesn't expire until June of next year but I couldn't resist ordering it. The package is on it's way from Memphis right now. edit: I just saw that this deal was mentioned elsewhere on the forum. Anyway, it's over with.

I run mbam in real time and eset , real time. They work just fine. Superantispyware is the only of the three that will get rid of tracking cookies. mbam doesnt do this, neither does eset. So i dont use real time on SAS and use it to scan regularly for cookies, it does a better job then any other progam i have found, besides using host file or hitmanpro ! Thanks very much for the information. I ran a scan while I was walking my dog and it found nothing which is normal.

Well, it's installed and there were no problems. Set up my weekly scan and Idle-state scanning. Now I have to do housework (I'm a widower) and walk my dog and then I'll have time to play with this. I think that when my license for NOD32 Antivirus expires in June 2014 I'll go to Smart Security on my Windows 7 Computers as well. Thanks again.

Thank you all. I will install the trial version today as you suggested. Good idea. The reason I asked about SAS and MBAM is because I downloaded the beta of Smart Security 7 and as I recall it told me to uninstall those programs. As it turned out, it would not install on my Vista laptop so I gave up after several attempts. I bought Smart Security 7 for my only Win XP computer. I have three Windows 7 computers and they have Nod32 Antivirus installed. Thanks for all the comments and wish me luck.

Thank you for the post Battlin'~D@~Big~*C* I really appreciate it. I am new to NOD32 and realize now that I should print out the manual and learn more about this wonderful program. I think that I have followed your steps accurately, so let's see what happens. I have three computers on this license so, two more to go. Many thanks.,

I'm using Outpost firewall with it and am very satisfied.

I welcome those PUP warnings. Never saw them from an antivirus before. So glad I switched to NOD32.

Hard to believe what you say. I have little experience with NOD32 but I feel that with NOD 32, I have a friend riding along with me.

Good information. Thank you.
