Thanks itman & Tom. Yes, Tom - i agree - i can live with the popup coming up. I don't understand how i can be "attacked" if i am offline. Does that mean live grid is not diacbled when i disable. My impression of my anti virus suite is that it is protecting me in the background. I can live with having the not connected pop-ups, - just that it seems odd that Live Grid cannot be working when offline, but an attacker may. contradicts. Forgive my ignorance. I like eset. And i appreciate the input. Thanks, Jems.

Hi Just wondering if there is any way i can stop eset from popping up informing me i am not on live grid. I work mostly offline - word processing, etc. When i go online, i automatically do a manual eset update. I have 1 PC on w-10. The other on W-7. Thank you.

Thanks for the helps. Tom - took your advice - done an uninstall / install of eset. Lost all my settings - back at default - i'll get to them. But my OFFLINE help is in English again. Thanks for the kind words as well. Yeah - would be quite a learning curve - learning French. Cheers.

separate scans for - a vulnerability scan AND a root-kit scan - ala - KTS

I have W-7 Home on this PC. The GUI Icon is back. I was unable to get it running under customize - show Icon & notifications. A re-boot fixed that. When i access - offline - HELP & SUPPORT/HELP/OPEN HELP OR FIND QUICK SOLUTION - it is in french? Thanks.

Eset no longer has an icon on RIGHT hand side (by clock) of taskbar. I have to open it from Start menu. Also - my help files are in french, which is not much of a help, as i do not speak french. Thanks.

Just downloaded 11.1.42.1. Seems my smart scan is not working right OR i have to re-configure. Smart scan only taking about 10 seconds after download, so i figure something wrong here. How do i have smart scan working like it should - that is, i thought smart scan done the thinking for me. A quick default scan. I know for in depth scan - select, hilite PC, etc. im ok there. and i rely on in-depth. But S. Scan is a quickie, i thought. Are the targets to be selected for smart scan, & if so, which / how? Thanks.

My wife is ENGLISH. That is - she is from England. UK means Great Britain & N. Ireland. Great Britain is England, Scotland, Wales, & N. Ireland. So to say English is language of the UK might get the ire of the Scots, Welsh, & Irish. ( and the folks up in Lancashire). I am Canadian - but i always find it helpful to be under the US banner in my work here & overseas. Cheers.

Hi Tom. Been a while. I had some issues as well. What i done (did) is basic & you have probably covered this. When i do an in depth scan - i -klik - advanced scan/Custom scan. A window come up. i U klik computer scan. I than press the settings logo in U. R. corner & select IN DEPTH SCAN. I than klik MY PC (in window - to the L.) For this to work, my default is set to system scan. Hope this makes sense - like i said - you have probably done all this. cheers.

i just had a look at some of my tools in EIS. I noticed that under LOG FILES / FIREWALL there has been no activity since 3-3-2018. I have been online quite often since that date. Am i OK, or am i missing something? Thanks.

i had run W. Defender a while back on that older PC. - upgraded to Nod 32, though still use W. Firewall on it. that older pc runs W-7. I do not know if i have enabled cloud scanning in W. Defender - i do not want to -- how do i go about checking & or disabling any W. Defender cloud scanning. I DO NOT WANT TO USE W.DEFENDER - - I LIKE ESET, IN FACT MIGHT UPGRADE THAT OLDER PC TO EIS. Have not yet as it is a spare PC i rarely use. Q. -2 - Does ZA firewall FREE work with Nod 32. or is there another FREE firewall that will work with Nod32? Thanks.

i have been trying to fix this - this is what SEEMED to work: CONTROL PANEL/WINDOWS DEFENDER/TOOLS(SETTINGS)/ADMINISTRATOR/TURN OFF. Is what i done OK with the forum? thanx.

this happened on another pc, where i use Nod32. MS had an update - said it was important, so i downloaded it. DEFINITION UPDATE FOR WINDOWS DEFENDER - KB915597 (DEFINITION 1.263.48.0) apparently it is called spynet - my concern is that i am now running 2 antispywares - i want to use Eset - i see no option to not use this MS SpyNet. Any help appreciated.

I took Eset IS off of another PC in in order to put another IS product on. I bought a 2 license contract - will i lose a license because i am re-installing eset on this other pc?. To explain - i have EIS on the PC i am writing this with. it is a different license; which expires in March. The PC i uninstalled eset is a DIFFERENT pc, for which i bought the 2 year license in Dec., with the aim of putting THIS PRESENT pc under the license also. I am missing the good forum reads on eset on my other PC. Hope i am not too foggy in my question. Thanks.
