We had about 7-8 servers that were experiencing this issue every few weeks (sometimes even more frequently) but since updating to the latest build the issue has not occurred in any of the servers.

We have now experienced this issue in the last ~3 weeks on a range of different virtual servers (Hyper-V 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019), running on different hardware. There is no common thread apart from the fact we recently upgraded all our server antivirus versions to ESET Server Security 10. What happens is that the server becomes unresponsive, a lot of programs refuse to open and when you try to restart the server, it will just hang with the message "waiting for system event notification service to close". This needs *urgent* attention.
