Our investigation shows that the culprit is Gigabyte and ASUS applications and some other vendors have noticed the same issue with their scanners while these applications were installed. We only made a workaround via a module update as there was nothing to fix on ESET's side.
If you are still having issues with ASUS MB despite having Antivirus and antispyware module 1462 installed, we'll need a complete memory dump from BSOD or a manually generated dump if the system freezes.
Apologies if i came across a little curt - hardware freezes are aggravating to say the least and my patience with it had grown thin. Unfortunately had my first lockup since the module fix but I have some suggestions to work with here at least.
