KRLS reacted to a post in a topic: Interactive Firewall useless since 16.2

Seems I need a large slice of humble pie and I owe Marcos an enormous apology. I was basing my experience and frustration from v16.2. Rather than trying v17 I behaved like a child throwing a tantrum trying to get his own way and being uncooperative. I would like to confirm all is well and working as it should since upgrading to v17.0.16.0. The update speed and process from V16.1 was as easy as one click and less than 2 minutes, this includes reboot. No rules or settings were lost or changed. I'm impressed. Last but not least I would like to publicly apologise to Marcos for my recent behaviour and immature posts.

As a customer my confidence in ESET has been severely shaken, not just because there has been no formal or informal apology but also due to the blatant disregard for it's customers with the callus, and what is now apparent **** up release of v16.2. If it were not for the fact how easy it is to roll back I would be seeking to take this matter beyond this post of mere disgust.

Having the exact same issue here since the update. Been pulling my hair out having to approve the same rule x15 times, sometimes more. Having spent a short time fumbling though the new UI I thought it were something I was doing wrong. Very poor move on ESETs behalf to push this update out half finished. I cannot express enough how disappointed I've been with this service for the past year. One more straw on the camels back.

Well I'd say based on the silence from ESET on this questionable network service, it's better left disabled. -

I'm coming from the link shown where another member has asked the same question and is directed here by the admin Macros saying it answered here. So where or even how is it answered here? Could we get an actual explanation as to it's function for some transparency? I am able to disable the service with no observable ill effects but still I would like to know it's purpose. -
I also recently received the exact same marketing message yesterday. I reported this same issue earlier this year via support but got very little help or solution, in fact after I made a new topic with this very issue yesterday and I saw a moderator was looking at this post and then to add insult I got another pop-up of the same message a few minutes later. My related topic has yet to be approved, which I find suspicious, and tells me this is either intentional or a internal security related problem. I have made a snapshot of my posts here and taken to social media and my stream regarding this issue.

Pop-up Adverts. Next Steps.

Despite contacting ESET regarding this issue, going through all my settings with support and being assured this wouldn't happened again, I had a pop-advert this evening that has caused interference while working on a project. Unfortunately this time the screen snapshot failed but it was a promotion for an ESET service upgrade. In my last contact with ESET support I declared I was monitoring this issue and I gave warning of wider implications should promises of no further interruptions be broken. I now urge support to urgently contact me within one calendar month to settle this prior to my next steps and a last resort through other routes.
