I have been testing different policy changes and have been duplicating the default "Eset Security Product for windows..." when I do this. I have noticed that when I do this and then update a specific client with the changes it gets some of the old and some of the new policies. I checked and made sure that the client pc was only assigned to the new (duplicated) policy. I then created a policy from scratch (well from choosing "new") I Had ZERO issues with ANY of the settings I chose on the client PC.

Server Policy setting _ SET TO AUTOMATIC MODE example Client with the Policy applied - Still being applied the old setting INTERACTIVE MODE This is with multiple reboots and over a day to update?! If I manually change it at the client it seems to then stick?? This needs to be fixed... I have checked to make sure there are no other policies applied to the client also...

ERA 6 Tasks not working
dlaporte replied to MStraet's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Restarting the agent doesn't always do the trick. I have also noticed that when I change a policy FIREWALL - (specifically turn off or on Personal firewall and ) it does not make the change! It will take the other changes (e.g. adding a custom rule in firewall) I also noticed the same issue with USER INTERFACE - Changing the start mode from minimal to interactive or vice versa -
Yes. I do. I think I figured it out by applying a test policy to my sandbox client that had interactive mode set. When I did this and then initiated a Remote assistance session it prompted about incoming and outgoing sessions. I chose to allow ESET to create a rule for each one. I then created a new ERAS policy and included these 5 new entries. Still testing, but seemed to do the trick.

Restart agent remotely
dlaporte replied to jimwillsher's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
I ran this task command on a new Dynamic group I created that has a template that uses the expression "Installed software . Application name =(equal) ESET Remote Administrator Agent". I then ran a run as command task to the Dynamic Group. Worked great! -
I have figured out how to lock the users down from messing with the EEA client from the systray icon. I am now struggling with allowing remote assistance while keeping the users from having to turn off personal firewall on their end from their systray by setting custom policy in the Personal firewall policy that is being applied to their PC. I'm trying to figure out if it would be better to allow the user to be able to: 1. disable the personal firewall (ONLY) from the systray icon. (have everything else grayed out?) 2. if that is an option can it be set to automatically re-enable the ESET personal firewall after a set amount of minutes ??

Restart agent remotely
dlaporte replied to jimwillsher's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Thanks Jim! I was getting tired of the false readings as well. -
I have always had great things to say about ESET/NOD32. I have 800 licenses that will be used and I really need some answers soon. I also created a great .pdf file with the help of jimwillsher's instructions on how to update your Agents. I tried to upload it and nobody can read it!! Seriously... word of mouth is great when it's positive....

I noticed that All of my devices that have had Endpoint 6.1.222.0 pushed to them have 5 default policies. Q1 - is there a reason why I would want the "Security Product for OS X & Linux - HTTP Proxy Usage applied on my Windows 7 Client Machines? Q2 - is there a reason why I would want the "File Security for Windows Server - HTTP Proxy Usage applied on my Windows 7 Client Machines? Thanks.. .dll
