  1. Hey As already stated, the url is blocked to protect you, of course. But if you are willing to take the risk, then see here: ESET is blocking a website I know to be safe—how do I exclude it? Regards Janus
  2. Hey Alikhan A interesting question. Well it all depend on how you will define zero day protection abilities? I mean, is a behaviour blocker a zero day tool ? It is no better than the rules that is defined for it, and Hips is no better that the man sitting behind the screen? Sandbox is a strong zero day tool, but i I have seen some, who has let malware through the sandbox? My point is, focus on backup/ layered security such a image backup software, which have the ability to recreate your whole system. This is in my perspective a strong zero day tool, and money well spent . And lastly, I will let Eset talk for them self , see this link : Zero-Day Attack Regards Janus :-))
  3. Hello EnotslT Well, you can configure Eset to automatically check for new versions (updates) : How do I configure ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus to regularly check for the latest product version? / Do I have the latest version of ESET Remote Administrator / ESET endpoint products? ,or you can on regular basis check this site: Eset News. And lastly, you can always visited the nice people here at Eset Support Forum. Regards Janus :-))
  4. Hello Kainjinez :-)) Don't know if it helps, but you can open a command prompt window "cmd" , and write : ipconfig and then press enter. This will display a list of your network connection information. Regards Janus
  5. Hello Eset User Have you tried to uninstall nod32? If not, then give it a try. Uninstall-reboot -reinstall. If you have any other security running, then disable it all, before trying to reinstall Eset nod 32. Regards Janus ...... You can download nod32 here, if you need it
  6. Hello TomFace :-)) Did you tried to set your firewall in learning mode/or interactive mode, then reboot your system. Let the firewall create the rules necessary for you to connect to the net. When the rules are created, then set your firewall in automatic mode with exceptions, then reboot to see if this helps your situation. Regards Janus
  7. Hello bravo 1 There should be absolutely no problem at all. A valid license key ,can be used to download a Eset product nod32) in any language if desired. Regards Janus
  8. Hello Well,.. I will just ecco what Alex,Swex and Arakasi has alredy said, but I will just add a small twist. If you should run into update issues, then it will be best, in my opinion, to first post your issue here, before trying to delete the update cache. It will, or can give Eset support, a better chance to troubleshoot the issue, to the update problem. Regards Janus :-))
  9. Hello alvar See hear about everything that is " blue" in your scanlog : Blue "error opening" notifications in Computer scan log (nothing to be worry about) Regards Janus
  10. Hey bentham Thanks for your feedback, is it much appreciated.I am very happy to hear, that things is working as it should. Take care, Janus :-))
  11. Hey Again :-)) I am using iE 11 , and personally I think that it is a secure browser. But be aware that not all websites are compatible with ie 11 yet. An example is this site. You can use the browser fine on this site, but if you what to copy and paste a link, then it is not possible using ie 11. ( at the moment I am using Waterfox 64 bit browser on this site) But have fate my dear friend, Eset is aware of it. See this link . forum issues with IE 11 on Windows 8.1 Regards Janus
  12. Hey A module update is the latest version of a part of your ESET security product, and an example could be ,improvements or corrections , most often to a specific module, such as the firewall module or cleaning module. These improvement is sent out automatically, and can be seen in your logs as a "module update". Regards Janus (have a nice weekend)
  13. Thanks for the reply Janus. Do you know whether you can do it online? Hey.... No sorry, because there can be, small differences from country to country. So the best thing I can offer (when I don't know from what country you write from) is this link to Eset's official distributors/support. Link : hxxp://www.eset.com , so just give them a call/ email Regards, Janus
  14. Hello BuzzSuffer and welcome There should be no problem at all, in adding a third licens. Just take contact to your local Eset distributor and explain the situation. I have done something similar and there was no problems in adding a exstra licens. Regards Janus
  15. Hey.... Eset Smart security v7.0.302.26 does not auto update when windows pro. 8.1 64 bit starts up. Windows is set to " go to desktop" when windows 8.1 starts . Internet connection is up and running before Eset, and everything is okay in Scheduler. Eset does update after an hour. At current moment, Eset shows vd. 9039 and when I check Eset Virus radar it should had updated to vs 9041 , when windows starts up. Tried to uninstall Eset and reinstall to see if that did a different (not that I thought it would do a different actually). No other security software is running, there might block the update function. Just in case I did a " ping update.eset.com into the command prompt " and as expected everthing was okay. Regards, Janus.... ups have to go :-))
  16. Hey Chrlshlmn Tried out "bitdefender 60 second scan" , with a couple of Trojans. It made me wonder. Did you know that "bitdefender 60 second scan" only offer detections of threats, (all is in the cloud) but do not offer any help to remove infections. It detects only, and then offer a link to one of its products, of course. I just write this in case that you were not aware of this.... Regards, Janus :-))
  17. Hey my friend :-)) The rule of thumb is, as you say, to only have one real time protection running. It will definitely minimize the probability for incompatibility issues. I have seen systems ,there had more than one real time system running, ..freeze, because both real time systems, were trying to catch the same malware.( The end result was that the malware actually slipped through) You can of course, exclude the different real time scanners from each other, but my personal opinion is, that it is best to only have one Av solution running, and instead have some good on demand scanners , (on a usb maybe) in your sleeve. Regards, Janus
  18. Hey rcmbs From what you have written above, then it seems that you are from Norway? (it was the word "/kjop" ) Have you tried to buy through the official local Eset distributor : hxxp://www.eset.no Regards, Janus
  19. Sorry for not answering your feedback, but have not be on the forum as much I like to. Nice to see that you like this tool, and your feedback is much appreciated. Thanks Arakasi (and a kudos to you) Have a great day, regards Janus :-))
  20. Hey bentham Sometime, if you have not already tried it, it can be best to start with the basic, I mean try to completely uninstall Eset, reboot as it suggests, and then reinstall Eset again to see if it will do a difference. Regards, Janus
  21. Hey my friend :-)) Hitman pro is in my opinion one of the best second opinion scanner available. I just use it as a on demand scanner, even though I have bought a 3 year license. (Bought the license to support them, because I had used their free service for so long). Regarding about potential incompatibilities issues with Eset, then I personally think that you will see no issues, but 100 % guarantee does never exist. If I were in your place now, then I would put your money back in the pocket, keep Hitman pro as a ondemand scanner for free. There are other on demand scanners like Emsisoft Emergency Kit wich are great to use and have on a usb. Regards, Janus
  22. Hello chrlshlmn :-)) Beside the good link which Swex point to, then will new Beta releases always be announced on this Forum the same day as they are released, (here in this sectionESET Beta Products for Home Users , of course ;-)) So just stick around..... Regards, Janus
  23. Bonjour Fred... You are very welcome, so just start,.... do the jump..., and we will all do our best to help and guide if needed. Regards, Janus :-))
  24. Hello Cosmo 32 Thank you for sharing your setup. Much appreciated. I hope that this thread can lead to some inspiration for those who might not be so knowledgeable, yet. I mean, if just one reader get a "eureka" moment, like... oh yes, of course backup is essential layer to security, for my family pictures e.t.c. then it would be perfect. We all come here on this forum, with very different levels of knowhow. And maybe can some of these small posts, lead to some constructive second thoughts or questions for some. (oh bye the way Cosmo 32 I really like your Avatar, it remind me of myself monday morning....) Regards Janus :-))
  25. Hello btm and wellcome It is so nice to see someone having thought about backup software, because it can really save your ... , you know, a certain body part many times? So thumbs up for that. It is a thought out setup. But I have to ask you, hope you don't mind, but did you had many problems setting up nod32 and Outpost ? I ask because I have seen many incompatibility issues with the combination nod32 + Outpost. Thank you, for you sharing your setup with us,and once again welcome :-)) Regards, Janus
