OK is there something I'm doing wrong, every time I will open any PDF that is on desktop, it wakes up all of the HDDs I know th9is was an issue with main UI but I'm not understanding, I also disabled scan upon opening file, still does that

You may want to open up a ticket with Support so it can be tracked..

  2. I just did a search on the Knowledgebase and to my shock and surprise it opened a Google search window.

Has ESET made a change on the KB search?

I REALLY do not trust ANYTHING Google (data gathering/mining).

I just want to know what to expect.

I do not think so. Marco's answer was very clear :" It's been seen on less than 10 machines in total "  which suggests that "10 machines with ESET"

Would be impossible for ESET to know that my machine (with Kaspersky let's say) encountered that specific malware.

Regardless how are you trying to sugarcoat it, the fact remains: for a while now ESET is subpar compared with other players on the market. Strange thing, all these players which performed better than ESET , have a free version to offer (Avast!, Bitdefender, Avira, Kaspersky, Microsoft)

I do not see any link to the quote that "novice" is claiming that Marcos posted in this Forum.

    Could you share it "novice"?

It must have taken a bit of digging to find a test from a year ago:lol:.

Test like this are not worth their weight in salt.

So what is your purpose and point in posting this?

    Tom

  5. I have seen a few folks (on this ESET Forum) in the past with similar lead-ins and postings, that have turned out to be nothing but spammers of/on the Forum.

When I chose my VPN, I just did my homework/research.

It's all a personal choice, dependent on wants and needs.

Please draw it sir, I beg you. Im also very anxious person and for sure won't sleep tonight. Im in panic now. Someone, please help me. Omg, what's happening? 😪

zamar27, mocking the OP is very unbecoming, not very nice and is NOT funny in the least bit:angry:.

This Forum is here for all interested people regardless of their level of expertise. Folks come here for help and interaction with other people who have the same interests. Not to be mocked.

  7. As I practice safe web surfing, most of the other categories in the log file are empty. My events log is full (899) of kernel updates and unable to connect-server not found (I do not stay connected to the internet when I'm not in front of my machine). I do have one blocked website, but otherwise it's empty. I have log maintenance scheduled once a week.

So, that being said, should I first verify the increase in the log size as Marcos suggested, or just clear the log now?

    Regards,

    Tom

  8. Well I am still having the same issue after deleting the scheduled scan and re-establishing it. The scan did run, it is showing in the scheduler last run time, I have (all kinds of) screen shots showing that, but it is NOT showing in the tools>log files>scans.

Not sure what to do next...really don't feel like uninstalling and re-installing...maybe the next program upgrade will have an affect....

One possibility here is that Password Manager is not supported in trial versions.

I couldn't find any info of this but it seems logically to me. I believe the PM is actually a third party product and is installed as such during the paid Eset installation phase. For trial versions, it is probably installed when a valid license key is entered.

That was my first thought as well, but as you stated, I could not find any documentation that states that.
