  1. is it ok to drop log file in a public forum? not sure what info it contains
  2. Log file is almost 90mb zipped. Where do you want me to place it?
  3. This is not machine specific....other than the 15 or so that have already rebooted to install new version..i currently have 42 endpoints waiting for a restart according to console...is there a policy setting i can check? The folders all the endpoints are in (multiple) those policies have auto update turned off...but i noticed at the top of the folder struction there is a read only policy enabled for auto updates. I would think policies below that and on sub folders would take priority?
  4. I have the Auto update disabled via policy. I have noticed that all my endpoints are currently updating from 9.1.2063 to 10.2045.0 . I was under the assumption that security type updates within same version (ix 9.x) would download and no way to stop but i thought i can control major updates from v 9.x to 10.x. I checked the policy on my endpoint and looks like it is disabled. Am i missing a policy setting to disable major version PCU type updates?
  5. i must have overlooked that...didnt realize the edit button had all those options hiding...i made the cahnge i needed to...thanks
  6. WIndows policies actually have a drop down that i can configure if i want to be notified of windows os updates or not...why isnt that option in the V7? it isnt in the V6 either for Mac
  7. I do not see in the V7 Mac policy on my Eset Protect on prem v9 server...but how do i surpress the warnings that the OSx is out of date? Windows policies have this option to disable the warning...i dont see in the V7 mac AV policy and the actual endpoint V7 has very little to none items that can be changed via gui
  8. OK...after fixing the Operation not permitted (allowing terminal app full disk access)...i was able to get the install process running...it ended in an error..this package requires Rosetta 2 to be installed..got Rosetta installed and now working....Eset needs to update their documentation for newer Osx and Mac silicon chips
  9. OK...i have the agent install extract to Mac desktop...when i run the follow i get Operation Not Permitted sudo bash PROTECTAgentinstaller.sh this is for OSx 12.4
  10. Many of the links i can find are for outdated processes. How do i install the Eset Protect agent v9 on OSx? I tried the agent i downloaded from Eset website but i am stuck at peer certificate. There is no deploy agent option under quick links in the eset protect console...
  11. .all my endpoints were updated to 9.0.2032.6 via a software install task...i remember as within a week of updating agents and endpoints via software install task...2046 was released... i am just going to save myself time and push out the 2046 install via software task install
  12. all these computers run 24x7...i have tried doing a manual update from GUI....i enabled logging and will check again after 24 hours....the entire premise of the auto updates was in part supposed to save admins time...now it looks like i need to spend time troubleshooting this process now...since the post above me is having the same issue...i think its a problem with the Eset update servers...i am not spending alot of time on this...it will take less time just manually pushing out the full 9.0.2046.0 install on the 13 pcs left
  13. Running in to same thing here....when ESET starting pushing out the update, my Win 10 endpoints started to update over about a 2 week period. I have 13 endpoints left out of 110 that have not updated yet. Since Memorial Day weekend, only one PC downloaded the update but other than that one , the last 2 weeks there have been no updates for the remaining 13. I see no restart warning in the Eset Protect console so i have no idea why the update stopped. All endpoints would be updating from 9.0.2032.6 to 9.0.2046.0..Strictly the security update which is supposed to over ride the auto updates turned off in ALL the policies i have assigned to endpoints.
  14. I have upgraded 7.x to 8.x server security on other servers without issue. I do see 2 folders in eset...one names eset security and the other file security...eset security appears to be the 8.x program files...the file security folder looks like it contains update definition folders...server and eset appear to be functioning normally upgrading to 8.x rather than uninstalling 7.x first....can you elaborate exactly why its an issue having the old file security folder form 7.x if i dont uninstall before upgrade?
  15. i will be installing v8....seen too many issues in the forum with regards to v9...too new for me does installing v8 vs v9 make a difference with your uninstall 6.5 first? all the settings come from policies on esmc console
  16. Is it supported to upgrade File security from 6.5.x directly to 8.0.x?
  17. Sure would have been nice if Eset would have chose a different notification in the console other than red to indicate a endpoint needs to restart to apply the update. Seeing a bunch of endpoints with a red status waiting for a restart ...the endpoints with serious issues with a red status get lost in all the restart clutter
  18. If policies have auto update off...what exactly will happen on April xx when auto updates are enabled(according to message in top admin view)
  19. Got it....so what does the message mean? I already have the auto update toggle off in all my endpoint policies....does it mean ttat after the date listed in the console, that the endpoint policies will toggle the auto update option on by itself...or will it remain off? I assume that toggle in the policy is the new auto update feature for the endpoint updates
  20. Does the actual ESET Protect server fall under the auto update? Will the server itself perform updates to the ESET protect server software? Or is the automatic updates just for endpoints and agents? Yeah..i saw a new V9 endpoint security version came out on 3/24...ironically...the day i updated the last v7 endpoint to V9(spent last 3 weeks updating all the endpoints from 7 to 9)....its a never ending battle
  21. I upgraded to Eset Protect V9 a month or so ago. At the top of the main window it says that automatic product updates will be enabled for your network after a certain date. What exactly does this refer to? I know in the eset AV endpoint v9 and file server v8 policy that i can disable automatic updates for the endpoints(i know security updates will always be installed) but what does the message refer to? Will the actual eset protect server (and management agent) also be automatically updated? I already have the auto update toggle off in my endpoint policies...does the message refer to the auto update toggle in my current policies will be enabled on its own? The entire automatic update process may make sense t the Eset staff, but your documentation has some holes in it for exactly which products auto update , exactly how and scenarios,etc....I am fine with auto product updates in some scenarios but reading some of the topics regarding auto updates, you have some admins on edge due to lack of total control over how and when your product updates
  22. Just sent you a PM with info you requested
  23. I dont want to post that info here....how do i get it to you via email or PM?
  24. Still cant download this is url clicking download goes to https://eba.eset.com/error/GeneralError
