  1. Thanks - that is what I thought but see at bottom of this ESET KB about disabling self-defense first--is that necessary before uninstalling 4.x, and if so, how? https://support.eset.com/kb3632/
  2. We have some servers with outdated ESET File Security installed (version 4.x). The OSs are Server 2008 & Server 2012r2. What is the proper way to upgrade to the latest version 6.5.x for both EFSW and Mail Security for Exchange 2013? We found some ESET KB articles, however want to see what the users out there have experienced with is? Finally, one of the articles states as first step to "Disable self-defense in EFSW version 4.5 and then restart the computer" -where is the self-defense setting?
  3. Not sure what you mean by local customer care. We host our own email with exchange so our ISP is not involved. Isn't there aa way to tell ESMX not to block a domain? (not sure of sender's IP-and that could change) Thank you!
  4. We are using ESET Mail Security for Exchange 2013. It is quarantining emails from a particular domain that is safe and we want to receive all of their emails. How do we tell ESET Mail Security to stop quarantining it?
  5. Thank you! I was in wrong section (Antispam Setup parameters/custom rule). Your method was what I was looking for!
  6. Can you show specific instructions? I am trying to find exactly how to do this but cannot find specifics. Can you elaborate with step-by-step? For instance where to start--is this an "Email Client Protection" setting or a "Mail Server" protection setting?
  7. We use ESET mail security for Exchange version 4.5.10023 on Exchange 2013 SP1 (CU4). We want to upgrade to EMSX version 6.5.x(latest) however we see conflicting compatibility info. The ESET website says all of Exchange 2013 is compatible but the manual says CU4 is not. Can anyone verify if CU4 is supported with version 6.x?
  8. Using ESET Mail Security 4.5.10023 for MS Exchange 2013. In the last 24 hours several hundred messages are bypassing the spam filter withsubject: [SPAM] Undeliverable: Treat as Urgent. the From header is: From: Mail Delivery System [mailto:MAILER-DAEMON@smtp.cyber.net.pk] How can we stop these from getting through? Thank you!
  9. Hi --here are the answers: -- Not using ERA --manage product locally -- State of WAP is enabled --with blue check mark. Can toggle checkmark but makes no difference. --Reverted settings to default prior to 6.2 repair and 6.3 upgrade. No difference --Result of query - State=4=Running --Ran Log collector --attached collector_log.txt
  10. Using ESET Endpoint version 6.2.x - all of a sudden the Anti-phishing protection had a red notification that is was non-functional and it showed the attached screen fro the Web/email tab. I cannot get the Web access protection to enable . I have tried a repair on this version 6.2 and upgrading to 6.3 and it did not help. I did not use the installer with AV remover when I upgraded to 6.3. Any suggestions? Thank you!
  11. Any progress? We also use ver 4.5 and our influx started in mid-September after it was previously ok. We only use the default settings since installation.
  12. I sent you a message but was unable to attach the .msg files - should I try to attach them here?
  13. Ok- we will go back to that syntax, but as explained in my original post we had it that way initially so not sure why they are not being blocked;) Thanks for replying. Do you know if the new version 6.x has a different method for blocking domains?
  14. Thank you for the suggestion but it may be a little while until we can do that upgrade. Can you offer any guidance on the proper syntax for blocking domains?
  15. Using Eset Mail Security for Exchange version 4.5.x. for about 3months with great results. Now, all of a sudden some spam is making it's way through to clients. These emails come from domains that end in .download, .eu, .trade, etc. In the Antispam parameters setup for filtering, how do we properly add these domains (what is proper syntax) to the Blocked Domains section? Do we just write as download, or do we write .download, or *@*.download?? We had it as just download but that doesn't seem to work so now we are trying with he dot before the domain. See attached. Thank you!
  16. Marcos - this hotfix is actually what I needed, even tough I was not getting the error it describes in KB article, it wasn't until I called ESET support that they found the ESET Transport agents were not loading without this hotfix. I wish this had been listed as prerequisite for ESMX, or an article that states: "be sure these ESET transport agents are loaded in Exchange 2013-apply this hotfix if they are not loaded"......as I spent a lot of time looking for an answer to my issue and waited 2 hours on phone for escalation support. But at least it's working now
  17. Thanks but this does not apply to us. We have no errors and Exchange is patched well beyond SP1 - I think CU5. It just seems ESET MS is not doing anything. Wondering if there is a diagnostic logging or something we can look at it. Did not see any KB articles so far.
  18. We just install the latest ESET Mail Security (4.5.x) on our Windows 2012/Exchange 2013 server. Our Exchange Server has all roles. We kept the default settings on ESET just to see what would happen and no mail is going through the Antispam logs. We setup a Quarantine mailbox on our Exchange Server and directed ESET to send mail there. We did manually add some known SPAM domains to the Antispam engine blocking options but still nothing shows in logs and nothing in the Quarantine mailbox. We have not yet opened a support case as was hoping it could be something simple you all know about and would like feedback from any users that know the best settings in the product. Thank you!
  19. Looking at page 43 of ESET MS manual...how would we block all mail from, for example, sender @xyz.com? Your manual shows mailbox@domain but cannot use asterisks. In another product if I wanted to block all sender this domain I would enter *@*.xyz.com. How do I block all senders from a domain using Mail Security for Exchange? Thank you!
  20. We currently use ESET File Security on our Windows Exchange server but will be installing Mail Security for Exchange. Do we uninstall File Security first or leave it installed along with the Mail Security?
  21. We are getting ready to install ESET Mail Security on a Windows 2012 Server that is running Exchange 2013 (SP1-CU6) with both roles and we have read through the installation guide but may have missed something. This will replace the File Security product that is currently installed there as we understand it. The Remote Administrator (version5.x) is already installed on a member 2008 server. We have Endpoint AV (version 5.x) already installed on the clients. Questions: 1. As we understand it, the Mail Security product is only installed on the Exchange Server and not the client PCs that already have ESET EP AV? It's just the mail boxes that MS is protecting, not the OS of the clients like on the server---right? 2. We have a lot of spam. Depending on the Outlook 2010/2013 junk mail settings (different for each user I think), some spam does go to this folder or the "Infected" folder. Do we adjust any settings in Outlook or does ESET have precedence based on its settings or do they work together --what is the ideal setup with Outlook involved? 3. If Endpoint AV remains on clients, are there any settings that get adjusted --or policies to tweak in RA? Thanks!
