When trying to send emails, very often it takes numerous attempts, due to the following error message: "Sending of the message failed.,The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.mail.wowway.com timed out. Try again."
I have talked with my email provider, Wide Open West, but so far they have not been helpful, other than verifying that I have the correct port settings. They also sent some test emails which they probably think are working fine, but that is not true when I try to send from my email client, Thurderbird.
Certain web sites say something to check regarding this error message is the firewall or antivirus. Windows Defender says that setting is handled by eset. How or where can I check in eset internet security whether there is an issue that causes my emails to get the above error message?
