  1. I've wasted hours now trying to get the log logging while playing the game and reproducing the disk-usage stutter only for it to out while ESET IS writes constantly to SSD for no reason. Gaming mode should eliminate update checks, period. And whatever third-party browser hijinx the "secured browser" gets up to concerns me, and I can't even create a dump file. The only diagnostic tool available doesn't work very well, and there's no threads on the disk usage issue where a user having produced such a log has their issue resolved. I have been using ESET's products since my first build over a decade ago. I have long attributed performance issues to everything else under the sun, but with current gen hardware and fresh OS and otherwise perfect system stability it still has problems. Why call it gamer mode or ESET products performance friendly if it doesn't behave as advertised? Playing whack-a-mole with all of us users on your boards only to funnel them through your own diagnostic tool that itself seems to have clear methodological flaws (serious, it's a snapshot not a log) instead of resolving these issues is a real bummer. Guess you don't care, it's all about closing tickets and ending the discussion of the problem. I have installed ESET products on countless systems for friends and family, the unfortunate AV tech. Not going to do it anymore. When this overpriced license expires I'll move on.
  2. That would make sense if I didn't reference near-identical issues reported as recently as a couple months ago. We can keep trying to switch the goalposts or actually get the AV to not be the bane of anyone trying to have a decent chance of not having their system performance erroneously obliterated at random. When these modes are active there should be no background writing to my disk, especially not at rates far exceeding the dedicated applications. There is no universe where an AV should be superceding demanding 3D applications in disk usage. It is really troubling that ESET's most active 'support' on these boards engages in this type of antic.
  3. it's writing more than anything else. Reviewing similar threads I see recommendations to exclude the very types of folders you would want an AV to monitor. Getting very discouraged by the logging tool. Is there any way to get it to log until I shut it off?
  4. One of the users lurking (cofer123) this thread's history of critiquing how ESET's browser integrations cause problems got me thinking. Is the secure browser causing firefox or another browser to double-up its disk usage through ESET? That's the only thing I can think of that would bleed the disk like this. As I reproduce exactly what I was doing earlier, I put on a YT video in firefox. And no it's not an internet thing, I have 60mbps cable and have checked packet loss and everything. Rubberbanding and CPU-related drops are very different from the user end from the disk-related performance dips. Connection issues in these games have you 'rubberband' back and forth. CPU issues can cause objects to "pop in late" or the responsiveness of your inputs to be delayed. But visual stutter the kind of irritating subtle way is disk-related. I've entirely upgraded my PC and spent thousands to mitigate all these issues, only to have software related nonsense ruin it.
  5. The log collector never runs long enough to coincide or overlap with the ESET-related disk usage spikes. There's also another weird little issue, where when the log collector is running it seems to 'take the place' of ESET IS when using DISK. Also monitoring with resource monitor and task manager, but as predicted the usage of ESET IS is crawling upward even with real time disabled and in gamer mode. This is after resetting, making sure everything was up to date, double checking everything in bios, hunting down every process and driver mentioned in previous threads as possible culprits. Just like every other day lately, the longer I use my PC the more disk usage IS incrementally uses. I am on log #8, doing one every ten minutes or so
  6. Any other settings you want me to toggle while I'm at it? The first logging terminated 'with errors' in the log, ESET slowly crawling up the disk consumption rangs in task and resource monitor.
  7. I am literally producing the logs. But sure be predictable and lock the thread. This seems 100% like an Eset problem based on how ESET reps responds to it.
  8. Then you'll have to wait for ESET IS to slowly start gobbling away at the disk usage as I run the same programs and wait for it to almost become unplayable. And they're not going to be sent to you via DM. None of these threads ever ends in an exhibited resolution for readers, it wastes everyone's time.
  9. It would be really cool if that were true! As you can observe, it isn't. Client was up-to-date, not scanning, supposed to not be reading anything with Real Time system protection disabled, gamer mode on. I'm not DMing you. Dozens of users have reported this issue and I have combed your threads, no solutions are being provided for this problem.
  10. with all due respect the role played on these 'support' forums is to kick the can with respect to ESET negatively impacting system performance, without anyone actually getting help. here's almost a decade of deflection on the disk usage problem: 2014-2017 3yo thread where multiple advisors/admins search their tea leaves to find reasons why the problem is anything but ESET in spite of multiple users flagging the issue. https://forum.eset.com/topic/3102-this-software-make-your-computer-very-slow/ 2015 (user says the issue stops when they disabled protection, excuses are made) https://forum.eset.com/topic/5419-why-does-eset-affect-hard-drive-performance-so-negatively/ 2016 (user asks for help for 100% disk usage problem by ESET, marcos says "dm me", never answers, user posts again asking for answer, has to argue with excuses, another user backs them up, user asks for another follow-up, Marcos proceeds to waste their time blaming Runtime broker, user follows more troubleshooting instructions only to be ignored again over a period of many days of check-ins, Marcos locks thread lol) 2017 (user finds Endpoint is the culprit in their 100% disk usage problem, Marcos again says "DM me" and locks thread) https://forum.eset.com/topic/13419-eset-endpoint-security-causing-very-slow-boot-and-100-disk-usage/ 2017 (just doesn't respond to the thread when user does what is asked and asks for a follow-up) https://forum.eset.com/topic/12959-eset-service-using-100-disk/ 2021 (as usual, someone posts the same 100% disk usage by ESET problem, Marcos pastes his logging bla bla and locks thread, no resolution) https://forum.eset.com/topic/27387-high-disk-usage-on-startup-ekrnexe-eset-service/ 2022 This summer (another user notices huge disk usage over time, problem is not resolved in-thread) 2022 4m ago, superuser ID's ESET conflicts with Windows leading to disk usage, solution? Uninstall ESET AV. https://superuser.com/questions/1107030/windows-10-disk-load-100-caused-by-ekrn-exe
  11. No. It's not a processor issue and these are tiny baby processes. I have an i9-11900K OC and 32gb 3200 Ram. The lag is caused by disk usage by ESET Internet security, it's not even a question. If I set it to 'stop doing this' and 'gamer mode' and it doesn't stop doing this and the FPS drops are uniquely because of disk usage and ESET IS is what's using the disk, let's not try to pass the hot potato.
  12. It's like Eset doesn't get it. If you're playing an online game causing massive spikes in performance lag by reading the disk isn't acceptable. I have a higher end SSD, this shouldn't be happening. With all these settings enabled to prioritize games it still hogs everything.
  13. I liked password manager a LOT better when it was in my smart security client. Now it bogs down my browser full-time and causes it to crash when even a single tab is open, and I just don't feel safe having my password manager integrated into my browser. Why did you do this?
