  1. Rimmel, Just get the SHA-2 updates and ESU patches installed and keep on going for now. You need to have a plan for 2023 when even Win7 ESU updates will likely end https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4472027/2019-sha-2-code-signing-support-requirement-for-windows-and-wsus Consider migrating up to Windows 8.1 if you want to avoid the Win10 mess. Don't like the menu on Windows 8.1? Then the Start8 software is dirt cheap and you will think you are back on Windows 7, but running a supported OS from Microsoft for a few more years (2023). Plus IMHO you get the one perk of Windows 10, Bitlocker. By 2023 you need to either start taking increased risks running EOL operating systems or should already be working on migrating to Mac or Linux. Take a long hard look at Linux Mint, perfect for many situations but not all. I have several family members that just needed to surf the web, get to their email, and work with a document/spreadsheet and they are on Linux Mint Cinnamon. There is no reason for them to be endless beta testers for Windows 10. Heck there is not reason for them to be on Windows period. In short don't have to run Windows 10 if you don't want to and many are taking alternate roads going forward.
