I would assume he meant NOD32AV (without firewall).- After going to pre-release(failed)/disk System cleanup, it triggered an out-of-cycle Win Updt? Then 2-days later a NOD32 updt, then another normal cycle Win Updt. I then ran clear cache, and back to Regular Updt>
-
Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm Confused!?- This article escribes clearing the Basic update cache, but I've upgraded to pre-release? BTW- This upgrade is making it Very Hard to do my Pre Windows Update (7/13) Windows System Cleanup!
-
Am I doing something wrong?- I switched to the pre-release update channel/ask. It popped up, and asked me if I wanted to download the update... I replied yes, and the window closed. 30 min later nothing happened?- Am I supposed to open/install a file, or what? Where is it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first time I originally clicked on the Normal Check for Updates- The GUI opened, and said/showed the update module had downloaded/open to view files.- Was I supposed to open the folder, or what?
-
Here are the logs you requested- Admin/all (44mb!)- eav_logs.zip

I got an ESET pop-up on a forum post yesterday saying the update would be auto-released today? By 4pm- no release, so I clicked on the taskbar menu Update bar- It showed modules downloaded, but nothing else? I rebooted, but it's still 14.2.10? BTW- I deleted an old file from PUA Quarantine (not installed), yesterday...
-
In an earlier Post, I asked if ESET checked for Rootkits in a normal scan?- The answer was NO, and I had to do some kind of an offline scan...! Not Happy with this! Maybe ESET will get their Act together, and start checking for Rootkits?! BTW- I had Webroot before that checked for Rootkits, but it kept being disabled with No notice (slower too)!
-
This answers my question about faster scans, but what about this?- Does this mean that files are automatically scanned/whitelisted... during normal operating (i.e. after a Windows Update, or a new program installation...?), Or do I need to do a Manual Scan (Just a Normal Scan, Or a different kind 0f Scan?-

Got to thinking about my original Topic Question?- Does this mean that files are automatically scanned/whitelisted... during normal operating (i.e. after a Windows Update, or a new program installation...?), Or do I need to do a Manual Scan (Just a Normal Scan, Or a different kind 0f Scan?- I Never get a 19sec scan..., but Always a 3-4min scan?)? How do I speed things up?
-
I'm confused!?- 1. I have No whitelisted files (I'm a novice user). 2. Is Smart Optimization On by Default (I never messed with it), and if Not exactly how do I turn it on?
-
It doesn't appear that there is an uncomplicated answer, to my question? - I have a Very Fast desktop computer- 5ghz CPU, 5x optical SSD, and normal scans only take 3-4min. Oh Well...
-
FYI- After an earlier post, I stopped doing daily scheduled scans, and my system is faster. Now I'm wondering when to do a Manual scan?- Other AV's I've had ran better, if I scanned after Windows Updates, and program installations...

ESET Terms of Service Phishing Attempt!?
scottls59901 replied to scottls59901's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
1. Repeat!- Outlook.com is NOT my ESET account email address, and I have never used it to contact ESET! I feel that someone... harvested... that email address!? 2. BTW- It went to my inbox, where I marked it as Spam/Phishing/Deleted. -
I received a Terms of Service Update notice On my Outlook.com email on ^/9/21- Outlook.com is NOT my ESET account email address, so I didn't open it/ Reported it as Phishing, and permanently deleted it! Thought you might be interested, or...?

I removed the Tick/ got a Win confirm, but the Daily Scan scheduler I created is still there!? I would assume that it is still being loaded, in case I want to later run it (Not!)- How do I completely delete/remove it? see snip-
-
I removed the Tick from Daily scan yesterday, and my system is Much Faster today... After two months of Daily scans- I probably have Huge created scans...!"- How do I permanently Delete them?
-
Thank you for the detailed reply!- The main reason I do a Daily scan, is for rootkit detection (I was infected before ESA). Are they scanned for, when I open Google Chrome? You are correct about scan times increasing! I will stop scan, and let you know?
-
I scheduled a Daily scan at 1pm (only takes 3-3.5 minutes)- When I scheduled- they recommended once a week? Changes take several days to take effect? Should I change it to weekly, and which day is best?

Problems with 202H Windows Updates... Wrong NOD version?
scottls59901 replied to scottls59901's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
I didn't have Any of these Win 10 issues until after I installed the "supposedly" stable v 14.0.22?!- I suspect others will have issues? NOD32 AV is Very Fast, and I'll wait for a fix... -
Problems with 202H Windows Updates... Wrong NOD version?
scottls59901 replied to scottls59901's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
Sorry!- I'm talking about Windows Updates.- I've had many problems in the past doing Any systems maintenance on a Sunday (during auto-Time update (hundreds of temp files...)). Today when I rebooted (Normal time/DST update), 1hr+ after cold startup- Windows reverted to Pre-DST time!? HUH? I did a manual time sync & rebooted again- On startup, Win has a Notification that Windows has an Account Problem, and Passwords have to be repaired... (happens every so often?), Repaired & Rebooted again. OK now- Hmmm? -
I've been having problems with Win 10 Pro auto-installing Optional Previews every Sunday (not checked!)? During recently installing NOD32 AV, I clicked Update (made me a Beta-Tester/NOT!?)- Now it shows I have version 14.0.22.0?- Is that the current regular user version? If not, how do I uninstall/reinstall current version?
-
1. I am installing ESET NOD32 Anti Virus 2021. 2. I only use Google Chrome, as I like their Advanced Security . 3. Q?- Does NOD32 scan for rootkits?
-
In the past I've goofed up Installation, and hope I do better this time!?- 1. Is there a Web Advisor with green... check marks next to safe sites? If not which add-on do you recommend? 2. During installation, do I Manually run a scan/when, or does it ask for a reboot first, then when? 3. I have a Password Manager I like- How do I Disable NOD's?when?
