  1. Disabling pop-ups is also suboptimal from the point of view that it only takes care of one aspect of the notification process. The license renewal routine also changes the Eset icon from green to orange and, if the user goes into the app, it has a dire message waiting for them there. Rugk's posting above is good for people who are working on the consumer side of the program. If you're on the enterprise side, here's what you need to do. Go into Remote Administrator and click on Tools > Policy Manager. Expand the tree and go into Windows Desktop v5 > Kernel > Settings > Default User Interface Values. Play around with those settings until you get the results you want.
  2. I must have gotten the wrong link as the one above just shows how to install new licenses, as opposed to how to prevent users from getting license notifications. To reitterate, the current license is still valid and the new license is on order, but has not yet arrived. I'm starting to get the impression that there simply isn't any way to turn off or disable user notifications in this program. It may be time to start looking around the registry to see if I can simply disable all pop-ups for users.
  3. The username and password has indeed been removed from my test client. I doublechecked and that portion is all squared away. Embedding the license though I'm not sure about. Do you have instructions on how to accomplish that?
  4. I can't speak to the consumer side, but for the corporate side the new license does indeed pick up where the old one leaves off with no overlap. I have to imagine that the licenses work the same in both cases or people would be screaming bloody murder on the forums. So check the forums and if they look clean, then you're good to go.
  5. I set up a local mirror, downloaded all the goodness, and pointed my test system to the local server. Aaaaand...no change. The user still gets a license pop-up at login, the icon is still orange, and the app still says dire things will happen if Something Isn't Done Soon! Any other suggestions/tips?
  6. So what you're saying is if the client is set to get its updates from a local server rather than directly from Eset, then it won't prompt the users for license renewal. Let me tackle that and see how it comes out. For the license itself, it has not expired and the new license is on order, but has not yet arrived. In the meantime a couple hundred users are getting notifications saying "hey, um, just in case you didn't know already, I'm about to expire in a couple of weeks. Don't forget about me! Please..." Then those users, bless their souls, call, email, and stop me in the hall to let me know, just in case the fifty people before them haven't already done so. I just love the opportunity to get additional interaction with the users so we can spend more quality time together.
  7. Does anyone know how to disable the license norifications Remote Admin sends out to the clients? Needless to say, it's suboptimal to have the program nag a couple of hundred users that the license is about to expire. The sysadmin? Yes. Users who have no control or input in the process? Not so much.
