ESET Endpoint AV 6.8.400.0 for Mac - High CPU usage

I'm experiencing problems with performance on my MacBook Air (2018) with extremely high CPU usage by `esest_proxy` process consuming 60-90% CPU almost constantly. It causes m fan to kick on and every other application is very slow to respond. Also find my system crashes when left idle over night or on long breaks. Any ideas?
