  1. Hi, Can you find the idea for solution here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2434
  2. Hi, It looks like Smart Security beta 7.0.204.2 EGUI freezes on export AntiSpam log to XML file. Steps to reproduce problem: Tools --> Log files --> Antispam --> Export... --> select XML filetype EGUI freezes every time. There are not many entries - cca 150. I let it for 5 minutes with no progress (I reckon it should export 150 entries in 5 minutes; exporting to .TXT takes cca 1 second :-) ). File is created, but it's stuck on 0 bytes. Export to .TXT and .DAT files works as expected. This is *Croatian* version; don't know if other languages acts same. Best Tomo P.S. 3. :-) Malware that encrypts files, adds an extension *.OMG and asks for ransom to decrypt them. It's known for some time under name "GPCode", but it looks new version is arround with advanced encryption. Tomo
  4. Hi all, Do we have some detailed data about this malware? Tomo
  5. Yes. hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=VIDEO35 hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2982 And, if your server is really *server* OS, you would like to install ESET File Security on it. Tomo
  6. (I've just seen the date of the original post and realised I'm a bit too late :-) )
  7. Flew,If problem is still present - did you try to disable Automatic updates /Windows update service (and restart afterwards)? Someone mentioned Windows update could be the reason, and I second that oppinion as a most suspicious point. Tomo
  8. Also, Opswat is Microsoft's partner ;-> hxxp://www.opswat.com/about/company/awards-recognitions Tomo
  9. doctor-z, Do you have installed Internet Explorer / ActiveX components addin or something like that for Firefox? Afaik, Firefox does not support activeX natively... https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ActiveX My point is - ESET's program is not causing this error. Tomo
  10. Fixed :-) Problem is with "%" sign which is in first place... If you put any other sign - mail is not empty. Best Tomo
  11. Fixed... See next message... --- Hi, Will empty notification-mail messages bug be fixed in final release? Best Tomo
  12. I believe ESET would be able to help you somehow if you send them suspicious files as false alarms (if they are :-) ). Sometimes specific application packers or exe packing option can provoke alerts in AV-products, but after analysis of false alarm files ESET can eventually help your programmers do the work with improving detection to all other ESET users at the same time... Tomo
  13. Eran, I'm just courious :-) Are those files detected as threat? What kind of? If they are threats - why would it be fine to exclude them? If they are not - are they False alarms? Something else? Tomo
  14. Hi, Update stuck here, too. Win7 Pro 64bit ENG ESS 7.0.104.0 (so far it seems only beta is affected) Update first stuck on 8702 for at least 1 hour (very likely even more...). Restarted Windows. ESS showed 8703. After manually "Update now" - stuck again. 15. My colleague reminds me that new Sirefef versions can cause this behaviour, too. You can try to download ESET's cleaner (try to DL it to USB stick on another PC). download.eset.com/special/ESETSirefefCleaner.exe Tomo
  16. gerryb, This is a situation I've seen with combination of Internet Explorer + Windows Defender. If this is so in your case, too, you can try to disable Defender and download with another browser. Tomo
  17. AFAIK this is by design from the beginning? And by using NirSoft's tool hxxp://www.nirsoft.net/utils/chromepass.html one can simply save Chrome passwords list. There are tools for other browsers also. IMHO - best browser password keeping solution is FireFox + KeeFox, KeePass's add-in. Tomo
  18. vk, It would be of great help to attach at least SysInspector's log (hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2219)... PerfMon would also be a good info... Did you try to disable graphical interface just to get machine working: Setup -> Enter Advanced setup -> User Interface -> Graphics -> [_] Graphical user interface Tomo
  19. Hi, all! Something non-ESET oriented :-) I have a strong feeling that in past several months (better say - years) I have to click twice to perform some event (too often, IMHO). I do not mean the events that are meant to be double clicked - I mean events/objects that are meant to be clicked once, but somehow I finish clicking them again too often, one second later, because my first click was "overlooked" by Windows. Linux was better than Windows but I am having the exact impression on newer popular Linux distros, too... Is this just my impression? What are your experiences? Why is that so? Is that hardware oriented thing, bad mice, hardware not fast enough for todays program code generators without optimization capabilities, ... something else? ...just a thought :-) Tomo
  20. Hi JJ You just have to change username/password, no need to (re)install new product. "How do I enter my Username and Password in ESET Smart Security/ESET NOD32 Antivirus?" hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2792 Best Tomo
  21. Hi all :-) I just wanted to start one non-ESET related topic and discovered that "General Discussion" seems "closed".. Is that so or just some configuration issue? Thanks! Tomo
  22. Dear Zardoc, Did you try the testing module Marcos offered you? As I see it, if you did not try it, it would be like your car get broken and you did not let your mechanic to try to fix it, but still want it to drive flawlessly. There is *no* software/hardware in Universe that will work on all computers, to all customers in any given occasion, ever and forever. As a matter of fact, there is no such product at all, let aside IT industry... Give that module a try - guys at ESET are here to help you when things go wrong. Tomo -- "Computer engineers are here to help you solve the problems that would not exist in first place should there be no computer engineers." (old praehistoric saying, found on cave walls in Spain or some other Scandinavian region)
