Eset doesn’t develop the password manager. It’s a port of Saferpass.

The move to Switzerland increased their ties to SVR not decreased them. GDPR doesn't apply to the Swiss. They have their own DPA, which essentially ensures complete privacy.

Then don’t tell customers there is a fix and not provide access to said solution. That’s rather poor customer service.

yahoo!  it finally works!  thanks!  my BPP module currently shows as 1256.
I removed "secure all browsers" option from ESET, closed browser and rebooted.  Opened browser and then BPP and installed 1password add-on/extension in BPP (no more "corrupt" warning).  So far all is working well!
it really shouldn't be this hard...

Module 1253 has been released and the 1Password extension works in Firefox. As does Keeper as an aside.

While users were protected in this case, I could imagine how this could be misused to evade detection. I've created an improvement proposal for developers who deal with automated detections and blocks so that such files are blocked in LiveGrid.

We didn't tell that a solution was available. The developer used future tense:
it will work from BPP module 1253.
I guess it was a misunderstanding of "it was fixed". Yes, it was indeed fixed in the code but the second part of the sentence was telling that it will be available in a next version of the module. ESET staff (typically developers) that replies in this forum besides moderators may not have experience with how to formulate replies precisely to avoid possible confusion so please bear with them. Moreover, they are not native English speakers.

Agree. Also a good news (fast fix + no need to create ticket) may be told better.

With all you do here for the company they should give you licenses. Pretty sad that they don’t.

Probably the best advice to LastPass users is the last paragraph of the bleepingcomputer.com article:

To me it doesn't matter how they're doing it, the company advertises their supposed total respect of users privacy, so the fact they ARE doing it is the issue. At any rate, I didn't want to hijack this thread and take it off topic,

Having licenses for both products, I'd add at least in my opinion and experience there really isn't much need to use both, and Emsi's behavior blocker produces numerous false positives. I haven't used EAM since July and don't plan on renewing. Which also brings up a user privacy issue, at least in my view, when you're not actively using thier product they email you asking why every few months.

The email does ask if you have removed the product do you mind giving feedback, which sounds like they can see which licenses are in use and which aren't, and automated emails are sent to those that don't seem to be active but have yet to expire

I for one am feed up with this constant Eset log upload issue due to their excessive size!
If Eset requires users to create diagnostic logs for them to be able to perform problem resolution, then it is Eset's obligation to provide a "nob" user method to do so from the existing Eset GUI interface. It should not involve user input as to what log options should be selected and the like.
Most important is the upload of these logs be performed automatically after logs have been created to appropriate Eset receiving servers. It is not the user responsibility to figure out how these logs should be uploaded to Eset.

We were able to duplicate the issue and are now trying to find the root cause. Hopefully a fix will be easy and could be distributed via an automatic module update. Will keep you posted.

Seeing files being sent at obscure times here as well. Last two times have been during system bootups.

Now try and restore from that restore point in a week or so. It will fail every time. Restore from a point a few weeks to a month in the past, never works for me. Yes you can create a restore point and then restore from that right away successfully, but beyond that I have never had a restore operation work.

Same here. Windows restore is not compatible with Eset products here either.

I wonder what you guys meaning of all of this, LiveGuard was introduced probably because there was need for 0-day protection and also Smart Security lacked something special that differs it from Internet Security
The complaint here is that LiveGuard does take 1-10 minutes inorder to process what has been sent to Cloud and with that time it's blocked till it gets approved by ESET, even also as been reported that Signed files are even reported and uploaded, Let's not forget that before a while there was an article about Microsoft signing drivers which in the end was a malware
LiveGuard is a kind of sandbox analysis server that is available for Smart Security products, which is normal thing for a sandbox to take time to process and analyze and send back information, there was a complaint before that LiveGrid doesn't block/prevent because it didn't have an update for a kind of file/threat , now that what LiveGuard is doing , it's blocking a file that it never seen before , which what people requested in order to prevent never seen before Ransomware files
For sure a new feature , it would contain bugs and need to be fixed and optimized more and so the servers are , even if one will go and have EDTD and one endpoint for it , it would take the same amount of time for analysis
And probably LiveGuard is powered by EDTD so would be same same.
LiveGuard is very nice addition by ESET , it can be fixed and optimized more for sure and I believe by the time passes it's database will be bigger and better, it's still the first public version for it , but for the question to use it or not , well Internet Security is still there if answer is not.
