  1. I don't know if you are still experincing this issue. Today I found a fix (workarround) For me the slow startup only happens when I sign in with a Microsoft Account. I converted my Windows account to a Local account and now the issue is resolved. I hope it also works for you. For help converting your online account to a local account see: hxxp://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-switch-your-windows-8-1-log-in-to-a-local-account/

    Kind regards,

    Richard

Hello Richard. Thank you for your suggestion. No problems here with ESET AV. I have no plans to use Eset Smart Security in the near future. Actually I would like to try it again but currently I'm a little busy at the moment so don't have much time to investigate this issue.

Also I'm not sure that ESET was the culprit.

  2.

The Avast Forum issue and this one are not to be confused.  The Avast Forum is still down while ESET has proactively taken swift action.

    Hmm...first Avast, now ESET...who's next?

    Bastards!

Note: send an email to all registered users!!!

They did the similar thing here and there. I didn't post it to bash ESET. It's not ESET's fault.

  3. Hi Dr Teeth.

Must be saving for a TS590 or a TS990 (ugly thing it is) Hi!

Didn't know there was a price increase my license runs out just after Christmas

There will be discounts around Christmas and New Year.

You can always count on that.

  4. All applications are going to give you problems if your system date is not corrected prior to going into windows, or able to be re-set once inside windows.

If you set the correct date and time in the bios, and then upon reboot it does not stick, you may need to replace your cmos battery which gives the computer power to store date/time settings when the board is getting no power at all.

Yes I know that. I'm using laptop. After third attempt I managed to set my time. It's working now but the main question is What happened in the first place?

    Thanks Arakasi.

  5. Are you able to set a correct system date via gui or the "date" command?

As for egui crashes, please create a dump file of egui.exe (available from the right-click context menu in the Task manager), compress the dump, upload it to a safe location and pm me the download link. We'll have a look at the dump and will try to determine the cause of the crash. In a personal message, also enclose the output of running ESET Log Collector.

No Marcos, that's impossible. Thanks for your reply.

    I'll try to do that.

  6. I tried to change my time via BIOS but it just won't work.

It keeps coming back to this - 23.4.16314!!!

Also I can't syncronise my time with an Internet time server

ESET service is active in task manager.

    Never seen anything like this.

Scanned my PC with HitmanPro. Got the message that my license is expired (because of time, probably) - No infection.

  7. Hello folks.
